Notice is hereby given that
on Tuesday. March 29, 1983, an
election will be held in Morrow
County, Oregon. The polls will
be open from 8:00 a m, to 8:00
p.m. The following question
shall be submitted to the
qualified voters thereof;
TAX LEVY OUTSIDE THE
SIX PERCENT LIMITATION
SHALL MORROW COUNTY
LEVY $2,304,197 OUTSIDE
THE TAX BASE FOR ALL
COUNTY OPERATIONS
DURING FISCAL YEAR
1983-84?
The purpose of this levy is to
provide funds to balance the
Morrow County operating
budget, and the Morrow
County Hospital and Clinic
budgets for 1983-84. The Mor
row County tax base for 1983
84 is $438,281, This levy, with
anticipated receipts from all
sources, will not finance ex
penditures for General Fund,
Roads, General School Funds,
Cities portion of Road Funds
and operation of the Hospital
and North Morrow County
Clinic. Increases are due to
inflation, existing labor con
tracts tied to cost of living,
and certain changes in hosp
ital operations, plus 8 percent
for uncollected taxes. The
total levy will be $2,742,478. If
this measure is approved,
$2. 188.036 of the taxes levied in
1983-84 are eligible for partial
state funding. However,
$554,442 of the taxes levied will
be totally financed by local
taxpayers without any partial
state payment.
