Question : "How do you feel
about the five cent gas tax that
was Just approved by the
Legislature Dec. 6?"
"At least they're honest
enough to call it a tax and not
a 'user's fee'," said John

Thursday's market.
MARKET TREND: As was the case with markets all over
the northwest, our steer market was down although heifers
were selling stronger than reported elsewhere. Even though
the market was slow, we had lots of buyers and an active
market. Even with the increased number of cattle with the
sale lasting until 11 :00 the prices were just as strong at the
end of the sale as at the start of the sale. Thanks to both
buyers and consigners for supporting us throughout the sale.
NEXT SALE: Thursday, December 9th-with approximate
ly 500 head pre-consignments including a few more yearlings
than have been coming to town.
Thank you,
John B. Kirby
