The lone Jr. High Volleyball
team was defeated by Echo
last Thursday by scores of 15 -1.
1 -15, S -15. lone's high point
scorers were Sabrina White
and Mary Ann Alvarado.
The lone team played well
during the entire match. They
volleyed well, they set and
bumped well but couldn't hold
onto their first game lead.

The Jr. High Youth Fellow
ship of the lone United Church
of Christ is busy with plans for
Halloween festivities. The
youths have chosen three
ways to celebrate the holiday.

On Sunday afternoon, Oct.
31, the group members will
trick-or-treat but not for
sweets. They will collect funds
for the church's "Books for
Zimbabwe" project. They
hope to provide several of the
African schools with subscrip
tions to "National Geograph
ic" magazine through their
collection (See related story).
In the early evening the
youth will host a Halloween
party for the children of the
area. All children are wel
come to come between 5 and 7
p.m. to the church basement
for games, refreshments and
a costume parade. A haunted
house is planned, also. All
participants are asked to
come in costume. Preschool
ers should be accompanied by
an adult.
Following the children's
party, the youth will celebrate
the day with a party for
themselves, Barker
