Citizen Advisory Committee
will meet Wednesday, Oct. 20,
1 p.m., at the Columbia Basin
Electric Co-op conference

Following the noon meal at
the Heppner Senior Mealsite
on October 20 entertainment
will be provided by Phil and
Doug Marquardt. Doug will
play the saw, said a spokes
person. Any senior citizen desiring a

Ron Bowman of Heppner with
he caught Saturday
Ever wondered how to catch
a 50 lb. Chinook Salmon with a
steel head rod and 15 lb. test
line? Ask Ron Bowman of
Heppner because that's what
he did over the weekend.
Fishing on the Siletz River
Saturday, Bowman says he
was lying on the bow of his
boat, "using a steelhead set
up" with 15 lb. test, trolling
with anchovies when the big
fish stuck.
"I knew I had a pretty good
size one on, but I didn't realize
how big," he says.
Bowman says he fought the
salmon for an hour before
landing it. and didn't even
know how big the fish was
