not just to farmers, but to all
Oregonians to have in the

Anniversaries
Local couple celebrate
50th anniversary
By JUSTINE WEATHERFORD
Sunday afternoon, September 12, a golden wedding party
was given for Frank and Hazel Hamlin at the Heppner Elks
Lodge. The couple's granddaughter, Judy Buschke, and her
husband, Delmer, the Hamlin's daughter, Maryette Wright,
and husband Joe from Gresham were the principal
arrangers. After 6 p.m., a dinner was enjoyed by the family
and some special friends.
At the afternoon reception attention was focused on the
golden weds and the lovely two-tier cake which was made and
decorated by Mrs. Jerry McElligott. A beautiful arrange
ment of a variety of blooms in an unusual vase prepared by
Lois Winchester decorated the lodge. An appropriate and
most attractive arrangement in a fishing basket was made
by Joan Hughes.
The more than 125 persons who came from Portland,
Gresham, Hermiston and all parts of Morrow County were
served cake by Donna Peterson and coffee and punch by
Maryette Wright and friends, including Glen and Joyce Ward
and Cal and Bev Sherman.
The Hamlins were married on Sept. 15. 1932, in Gresham.
They say they came to Heppner as strangers but "were soon
accepted by the wonderful people here." They are most
appreciative of this community and grateful for the attention
their friends have given to them. Hazel concludes "We feel
btaned and in turn ask God's blessings for all kind people
everywhere."
