Walla Walla, Wash., charged
June 28 with Second Degree
Criminal Mischief and
Assaulting a Public Safety
Officer, pleaded guilty to both
charges on July 15 in Morrow
County Justice Court (Hep
pner), reported a spokesper
son from the Morrow County
District Attorney's office.
She was sentenced to pay a
$525 fine and a six month jail
sentence - all suspended but
$207 of the fine on the condition
that she comply with the
following conditions of proba
tion for one year: must reim
burse Morrow County $118 for
damage to door in sheriff's
office; must not consume
alcohol during probation per
iod; must participate in a
professional counseling pro
gram until released by the
treatment facility and must
pay treatment expenses; shall
not have any further viola
tions of criminal law during
her probation period.
For the Assaulting a Public
Safety Officer charge, she was
sentenced to serve 30 days in
the Umatilla County Jail - all
but seven days suspended;
and was fined $207.

person reported:
- Michael Richard Buschke,
23 of Walla Walla, charged
June 28 with Second Degree
Criminal Mischief, pleaded
guilty to the charge on July 15
in Morrow County Justice
Court (Heppner).
He was sentenced to pay a
$525 fine and a six months jail
sentence - all suspended but
$207 of the fine upon the
condition that he comply with

37 of Heppner, was found not
guilty by jury of Disorderly
Conduct on July 14 in Morrow
County Circuit Court.
- Edward Joseph Marick, 39
of Stanfield. charged with two
counts of Driving While Sus
pended, pleaded guilty to one
charge and was sentenced to
60 days in jail - suspended on
the condition that he give 24
hours community service.
- Juan Jose Navarro
Medina, 23 of Boardman, was
found to be a habitual traffic
offender on July 14 in Morrow
County Circuit Court and is
prohibited from operating a
motor vehicle in the state of
Oregon for 10 years.

The Morrow County sher
iff's office at the Morrow
County Courthouse in Heppner
handled the following calls
and cases during the past
week:
On July 15, the Heppner Fire
Department responded to a
vehicle fire at the Morrow
County Fairgrounds at 6:25
p.m.
Also on July 15, a Heppner
ambulance responded to the
Eucon batch plant at the
Willow Creek Dam site at 9:26
p.m. for a man who had
reportedly fallen and had a
possible back injury.
In a third Julv 15 incident
Theodore Roy Endere. 32 of
. Boardman, was arrested by
Boardman Police and charged
with alleged Menacing.
On July 16, the Heppner,
Fire Department responded to
a brush fire near the cemetery
at 8.49 a.m.
In a second July 16 incident,
the Boardman Fire Depart
ment responded to a fire at the
C & D Drive-In, Boardman.
Also on July 16. a Boardman
ambulance transported a
male patient from U & I Inc..
Boardman. to Consolidated
Good Shepherd Hospital.
Hermiston.
In a fourth July 16 incident,
a Morrow County Sheriff's
deputy took a report from a 10
year-old boy who reported
being assaulted by two un
known males who jumped out
of a vehicle, took him off his
bike, threw him to the ground
and then threw his bike into a
ditch. The suspects reportedly
then drove off in the vehicle
with two other suspects.
On July 17. Pablo Ponce of
Boardman reported that two
men had kidnapped his
daughter. Julia Ponce. 21 at
Patterson-Ferry Road. She
was later returned to Board
man On July 18. two Morrow
County Sheriff's deputies
assisted in the arrest of An
tonio Mendoza. 34 of Board
man. Mendoza is a suspect in
the kidnapping of Julia Ponce.
He was lodged at the Umatilla
Police Department.
In another July 18 incident,
an armed robbery occurred at
Brown's Truck Stop. Irrigon
at 2 :15a.m. The suspect was a
black male armed with a
small caliber revolver. He
reportedly told the attendant
to lay down on the floor and
then took approximately
$1,700 in cash and checks.
Correction
A July 6 entry in the Sher
iff's Report published in last
week's Gazette-Times, was in
error.
The story stated that after a
two vehicle accident occurred,
both drivers were charged
with alleged Careless Driving.
Only Ronald F. Booth was
charged.

have lived at 180 W. Center
Street. Heppner, since 1946
and have had an attractive
yard there every year. Last
weekend when members of
the Yard Selection Committee
took a careful look around
town, they found several
worthy yards, but they re
commended to the Garden
Club at its July meeting that
" because of its brilliant bloom
ing borders just now, that the
Keithlty yard be named the
best for the month, between
July 15 and August 15.
The Keithleys have remod
eled the home they bought
from Josephine Mahoney
Baker several times, with
Everett doing all the work
himself.
Asked about their garden,
they claim that neither is the
chief gardener. "We just both
work at it." Everett loves all
varieties of flowers: Helen
favors roses. When their yard

second shot on holes one, six
