MARKET TREND: While early reports indicated that the
market would be off on cattle and horses we had a hot market
with plenty of demand. Numbers of cattle sold were short
especially in the heavy feeders weight however what we had
were good local cattle. Cows were strong with bulls holding
steady. Heifers 400 600 lbs. were $2.00 stronger with steers
holding steady,
NEXT SALE : Thursday, June 17th. There will not be a sale
this coming Thursday, June 10th as this is the week of the
Eastern Oregon Livestock Show featuring 4-H and FFA
classes, RCA Rodeo and Pari-Mutual Horse Racing.

NOTICE OF UNCOMPENSATED SERVIC E OBLIGATION
Pioneer Memorial Hospital, Heppner, Oregon provides this
notice of the availability of uncompensated services in
accordance with regulations promulgated by the secretary of
Health and Human Services, set forth in 42 CFR, Part 124.
Federal law requires that Pioneer Memorial Hospital
provide a reasonable amount of care without charge to
people who cannot afford care.
Accordingly, from July 1, 1982 until June 30, 1983, Pioneer
Memorial Hospital will provide $22,144.00 of uncompensated
care to individuals meeting the eligibility criteria.
Services that are eligible include inpatient acute care at the
Pioneer Memorial Hospital.
Eligibility recipients will be determined on a first come, first
serve basis until the allocation is made for the year.
Criteria for determining eligibility:
Individuals will be eligible for uncompensated care on a first
come, first serve basis, if their annual family income is at or
below the following amounts.
1982 - Poverty Income Guidelines for all
States except Alaska and Hawaii
Size of family unit Non-farm family Farm family

For family units with more than 6 members, add $1,540 for
each additional member in a non-farm family and $1,300 for

Federal government. The free care requirement by this
Federal law is paid for by higher charges to other patients
and-or property tax revenue.
