bers of the union in contract
negotiations between union
employees and the hospital.
The employees present two
year nine month contract
expires March 31.
Siebel said she filed the
complaint after two incidents,
one in February and the other
in March, when hospital
census was low (Low patient
load i and Felt allowed only
non-union employees to work
full eight hour shifts and aides

Felt's response to the com
plaint was that the hospital
has the prerogative in its

use the aides, however, "be
cause of (the LPN's) trianing
and license they can do more
things."
Felt said Tuesday that he
was preparing a response to
send to the hearing officer of
the Employment Relations
Board.
Union employees involved
include nurses aides, the
laundry department, the diet
ary department, two mainten
ance positions and two clerical
positions.
Contract negotiations are
scheduled to begin again April
8.
Road closure
announced
A two and one-half mile
section of Bombing Range
Road will be closed to through
traffic between Juniper Can
yon Road and the Lexington
Echo Highway for re-construction,
it was recently-
announced by the Oregon
State Highway Division.
' According to the division,
the duration of the closure will
be approximately 90 days
commencing April 5.
A detour is to be provided
for routing traffic around the
section under construction
