their record to 15 - 1 and
assure themselves a place In
the district playoffs.
"He just had a super night,"
Coach Dale Holland said of his
standout 6'2" forward. For
rar's 39 points were the most
scored by an Individual Mus
tang this season.
Senior guard Don Lott also
turned in a good performance
In the Mustang win, Holland
said, scoring 12 points and
pulling in six rebounds.
Reserve guard Harry Gro
shens came off the bench to
give the Mustangs a good
game too. Groshens scored 11
points. "He handled the ball

The Cardinals came out for
the third quarter to outscore
the Cougars by two. The score
showed the Cougars with a 23 -42
lead at the start of the final
quarter,
The Cardinals were unable
to come back in the final
quarter and were handed a
loss.

Women's Aglow Fellowship
will meet Monday, February
22 at All Saint's Episcopal
Church Parish Hall. Heppner
at 7 p m.
Featured speaker will be
Nancy Webb of Heppner. She
will be sharing prayer, said a
group spokesperson .
Nancy and her husband
La Verne have three children,
Kay of New Hampshire: and
Stan and Jim, both of Madras.
Mrs. Webb was an Aglow
officer in Redmond from 1967
to 1977.
Mr. and Mrs. Webb will be
going to a Discipleship Train
ing School for Youth With a
Mission at Tacoma, Wash, in
March, "After the five and
one-half months school, we
will be doing whatever God
leads us to do," stated Mrs.
Webb.
Women's Aglow Fellowship
Is an inter-denominational
women's group, and all area
women are invited to attend,
said the spokesperson.

McMinn had nine.

The Heppner Fillies battled
Stanfield Saturday night and
came out on top with a
winning score of 62 - 38.
Mary Kincaid added a
whopping 33 points to the total
score, followed by Anne Mur
ray with 17. Pam Orr and
Sandra Ward each had three
points. Sherri McMinn. Cindi
Bergstrom and Lorri Day
each contributed two points to
a winning effort.
Ward grabbed 12 rebounds,
followed by McMinn with 10
and Orr was next with nine.
Mary Kincaid had six
assists and eight steals.

Cougars on Friday. February
12. Bink Ramos sank the
winning basket for the Cou
gars with six seconds left in
the game.
Jeff Hams and Denny Starr
contributed six points each in
the first quarter as the
Cardinals took a 16 - 13 lead.
The second quarter turned
into a defensive battle as
Heppner takes Stanfield, 74-67
Heppner blew a 16 point lead
in the third quarter, but still
managed to hang on and down
Stanfield 74 - 67 last Saturday
night in Stanfield.
The Mustangs got good
offensive performance from

and Doug Holland to outscore
Stanfield in the first half and
build a 16 point lead in the
third quarter.
The big lead slipped away,
however, and the Mustangs
were ahead by only one point
with a minute and a half left in

The Heppner junior varsity
boys basketball team ended
its season with its fourth
straight loss, dropping a 46 - 31
decision to Weston-McEwen at
home Friday.
The Mustang JVs finished
the season with a 5 - 7 record.
Heppner hung tough to the
Tiger-Scots for three quarters,
trailing just 29 - 24 going into
the fourth quarter. But the
Mustangs were blitzed in the
final quarter 17 -7 and took the
loss.
The Mustangs continued to
have shooting woes, hitting
just 13 of 44 shots for a .295
percentage and 5 of 15 free
throws for a .333 mark.
Thirty-four turnovers also
contributed to the Heppner
downfall, said Heppner Coach
Brent Eggers.
