Thirty-four young people
were "sold" last Thursday,
Oct. 15, during the Heppner
Chapter of Future Farmers of
America's annual Slave Sale.
A total of $1,200 was raised
for FFA with bids ranging
from $20 on up to $80 for the

Xmas Cotillion slated in
Pendleton Dee. 5
Tickets for the 13th annual
Christmas Cotillion, to be held
at the Pendleton Armory
Saturday, Dec.' 5 are now on
sale, said Carole Chvilicek,
publicity chairrian for the
event.
Tickets for "The Magic of
Christmas," may be purchas
ed on a first come-first served
basis, said Chvilicek. All
proceeds benefit the Ameri
can Cancer Society.
To purchase tickets, a $30
check per couple payable to
the American Cancer Society
should be sent to: Christmas
Cotillion, P.O. Box 325, Pen
dleton, OR 97801. "$26.50 Of the
ticket price is tax deductible
as a contribution to the Cancer
Sociity," she added.
Music for the event will be
provided by Wayne McGuf
fin's orchestra, an 18 piece
group from the Tri -Cities, she
said.

Glenn and Lenna Smith
The yard of Glenn and Lenna Smith, 475 W. Morgan,
Heppner was chosen by the Heppner Garden Club as Yard of
the Month.
"The yard met all the requirements of Yard of the Month.
It was neat, free of weeds, the shrubs were well groomed and
the yard is well utilized with a garden in back of the house,"
said a garden club spokesperson.
The Smith yard is the last selection for the Heppner award
for the year, said the spokesperson. "The garden club
committee will begin watching for beautiful yards again in
the spring," she added.

WHEREAS ORS 51.020 in
vests county courts with the
authority to set off and
establish or modify justice of
peace districts and,
WHEREAS the Justice of
the Peace of the fifth district
has submitted his resignation
which shall become effective
October 31, 1981, and
WHEREAS consolidation of
the Morrow County Justice
Court Districts into one dis
trict would provide substan
tial cost savings to the people
of Morrow County, and
WHEREAS more efficient
and complete justice can be
administrated by a unified
' Morrow County Justice Court
' and
WHEREAS the Umatilla -Morrow
County District Court
is available for services form
erly provided exclusively by
the justice courts.
The County Court of Morrow
County ordains as follows:
Section 1 The fifth District
Justice Court for
Morrow County and
the sixth District
Justice Court for
Morrow County are
hereby consolidated
into one justice court
which shall be known
as the Justice Court
for Morrow County.
Section 2 The Justice of the
Peace for the Justice
Court for Morrow
County shall sit at
the Court House An
nex in Irrigon, Ore
gon for two days per
week and shall sit at
the Morrow County
Courthouse for two
days per week.
Section 3 The Justice of the
Peace for Morrow
County shall estab
ish and maintain a
traffic violations
bureau in the Mor
row County Court
house Annex which
shall have a clerk
available during
regular working .
Section 4 The clerk of the
violations bureau
shall be bonded in
the same manner as
a deputy county
clerk.
Section 5 In as much as It is
necessary for the
health, safety and
welfare of the citi
zens of Morrow
County that this ord
inance have effect

Commissioners of the Port of
Morrow will meet at the City
Council Chambers of the City
of Boardman, 19 Town Square,
Boardman, Oregon, for the
purpose of acting upon an
ordinance authorizing issu
ance by the Port of Morrow,
Oregon of its revenue bonds
for the acquisition of a
leasehold interest in certain
industrial facilities for West
ern Alfalfa Company and
authorizing the execution of
certain documents and related
