The Sheriff's Dept. at the
Morrow County Courthouse in
Heppner handled the following
calls during the past week:
On June 27. Terry L. Haldy.
Umatilla, was arrested by the
Umatilla Police Dept. on a
Morrow Co. Circuit Court
warrant for delivery of a
controlled substance. Bail was
posted and Haldy released.
On June 25. James L. Cason,
Heppner, was arrested by
Heppner City Police on two
counts of assault IV. one count
of resisting arrest, and
received a citation for alleged
ly driving under the influence
of intoxicants. He was lodged
at the Hermiston Safety Cen
ter. On June 24, John C. Smith,
Heppner, was arrested by a
Morrow Co. Sheriffs Deputy
for delivery of a controlled
substance. Smith was releas
ed after posting bail.
Also on June 24, Katherine .
J. Coburn, McMinnville, was
arrested by McMinnville Pol
ice Dept. on a Morrow County
5th Justice Court warrant for
allegedly driving while license
suspended and exceeding the
speed limit. She was released
after posting bail.
In another June 24 incident,
Gary L. Hiigel, Boardman,
was arrested by a Morrow Co.
Sheriff's Deputy for alleged
theft by deception. He was
released after posting bail.
On June 22i Edward Joseph
Marick. Boardman, was ar
rested, by a Morrow County
Sheriff's Deputy on a charge
of theft I. He was released
after posting bail.
Also on June 22. Mrs. David
Leach, lone reported the theft
of a gun. A Morrow County
Sheriff's Deputy responded to
the call.
Butter Creek
Livestock
meets

On Tuesday, June 23, the
Butter Creek Livestock Club
met at Janelle Bailey's house.
Nancy Bailey got her lamb
to show. Dwight Bailey show
ed how lead and place the
lamb.
Club members also talked
about when to start working
with the lambs. Next, mem
bers went to see the steers.
Dwight and Jeff Bailey talked
about the judging of steers,
members judged the steers
and then Jeff and Nancy led
the steers. '
Fair committee
to meet July 6
The Morrow County Fair
Committee will meet Monday,
July 6, at 7:30 p.m. at the
fairgrounds dormitory build
ing. All committee members are
invited to attend, especially
superintendents involved in '
the fair.
Topics for discussion are the
fair premium book, pre
miums, changes to be made in
any departments, and any
other new business
