1 OPEN TO ALL REGULARLY ENROLLED 4-H CLUB MEMBERS in Morrow
County.
2 ALL EXHIBITS MUST BE THE WORK OF THE MEMBER, completed or owned
during the current 4 II year. AH fitting, training, care and showing of animals will be
done by the exhibitor. Members must be enrolled in the project in which they are
exhibit ing and must exhibit in the highest phase they completed during the club year.
3 EAC H EXHIBITOR MUST PRE-REGISTEK ALL EXHIBITS AND CONTESTS he is
entering on the enclosed 4-H Premium Sheet in order to receive premiums. Those
exhibits and-or contests not listed will not receive premiums. Use a different 4-H
Premium Sheet for each exhibitor. Additional 4-H Premium Sheets are available
from the County Extension Offices in Heppner and Irrigon and from the Fair Office
during the Fair. ALL PREMIUM SHEETS MUST BE COMPLETED AND TURNED
INTO THE FAIR OFFICE NO LATER THAN 11:00 a.m. TUESDAY, AUGUST 25.
4 Age Divisions are based on the grade in school.
JUNIOK grades 4th. 5th. and 6th
INTERMEDIATE - grades 7th, 8th and 8th
SENIOR grades 10th. 11th and 12th
ENTRY DEADLINES: See schedule in the front of this book for entry schedule. Style
revue entries must be made by 9:00 a.m. Monday Aug. 24.
6 THE DANISH SYSTEM will be used in all exhibits, including style revue,
presentation and contests other than judging contests. Champion and Reserve
Champion ribbons are awarded in each class as deemed worthy by the judge.
HERDSMANSHIP. Animal waste must be handled according to the direction of your
livestock supervisor and-or the fair management. If containers or trucks are
available waste must be placed directly in them. Members or clubs are encouraged to
bring wheelbarrows to carry the waste. Pens should be kept neat and clean while
using as little straw as possible. Alleyways should be free of debris and clean.
8 Exhibitors that desire to sell their animals through the sale must submit a "feed and
growth record" current up to the fair weigh-in. These need not be a specific form,
although "4-H 140R" will suffice, but should include the following data: member's
name, animal's name and description, purchase date and weight, animal's breeding,
all weights made during the project period, a record of all feed consumed and its cost,
a record of veterinary and other expenses, and other data that is pertinent to your
records. The object of these records is to help you determine whether you made, or
lost, money on your project.

9 SPECIAL NOTICE 181 FAIR ONLY.
Due to change of date for 4-H entries at state fair, it is impossible for 4-H items to be
judged locally and taken to state fair in time to be judged there.
FOR THIS YEAR ONLY. Fair Board will add an additional $1 premium to all exhibit
judged state fair quality. Those chosen for participation in state fair contests (style
revue, judging contests, livestock, presentations and food contests) will be able to
attend state fair as those dates do not conflict. No additional premium will be added
to these contests.
The conflict of judging scheudules occur ed after Morrow county fair date and
schedules were announced. All state fair dates were moved ahead one day and one
additional day added to the event.
We are sorry for the conflict of dates, and hope all 4-H'ers will realize the conflict is
due to circumstances beyond local control. The above statement applies to 1981 fair
only.

range or wildlife. Not to exceed 30" wide. 24" deep (back to front) and 24" high.

Display should bisually show and explain some process of method related to the
member's project. Open to all 4-H member, especially those having no specific
exhibit.
Individual displays limited to 30" in width, 24" in depth and 30" in height. May
include pictures, models, diagrams and actual articles. May be poster, 3-D display or
a notebook . Gub exhibits must have names and addresses of all members and leaders
in the club.

DIVISION 3 - 4-H PRESENTATIONS
OPEN TO ALL 4-H MEMBERS
To include demonstrations and illustrated talki (any oral presentation that uses
visual aids to present information)
-PRESENTATION TOPIC MAY BE ANY SUBJECT MEMBER WISHES TO
SHARE WITH OTHERS.
Team presentations will consist of 2 members.
30 minutes is allowed for each presentation to be set up. presented and cleared
away. This must be done by the 4-H member. The actual presentation should take
less than 20 minutes.
Member will furnish all supplies and equipment required except table, range or
refrigerator.
A member may enter only one presentation any one year.
Member will be notified of time scheduled for his-her presentation.

CLASS A : Record Book Contest
Record book must include project records for current year, permanent
record and 4-H notes up to date of fair time.
CLASS B : Scrap Book Contest
Scrap book should consist of pictures, newspaper clippings and
correspondence that relate the project carried for current year, or for a
number of years. Materials should be organized by year, or project area.
Include index and-or sheet listing projects carried for current year.
Club scrapbooks may be entered in special category.
