Flower Hints
1. Cut flowers in late afternoon of the day before they are exhibited, place
immediately in deep luke warm water, free of drafts and In a dark place.
2. Select material in its prime and pest free.
3. Hoses should have healthy stems, be shown with foliage, and blooms should be 13
to open.
4. Gladioli should be 1-3 of flower fully opened, 1-3 of flower showing color and 1-3 of
flower In tight buds.
5. Dahlias should have minimum of two leaves, no buds and the center should show.
6. When entering two or more blooms, each should be of the same size.
Flower Arranging Contest:
See daily schedule. There will be an opportunity for people to enter a contest of
flower arranging. Bring your own tools, flowers and containers. Premiums same as
exhibit entries.
