Mary Fleck and Kelwayne Haguewood
Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Fleck, The Dalles, wish to announce
the engagement of their daughter, Mary Carol, to Kelwayne
Haguewood, son of Ronald Haguewood, Heppner, and Lynn
Haguewood of Portland.
Miss Fleck, a 1975 graduate of The Dalles High School ,
received her degree in elementary education from Eastern
Oregon State College in 1979. She is currently teaching fourth
grade at Heppner.
The bridegroom, a 1975 graduate of Heppner High School,
graduated from Eastern Oregon State College in 1979 with a
degree in agri-business. He is presently ranching with his
father. A June 13 wedding is being planned.

A marriage license application was received by the
Morrow County Courthouse in Heppner from :

On May 12. Floyd Wilks. 545
Pioneer Drive, Heppner, re
ported a furnace fire at his
residence. The Heppner Fire
Dept. responded to the call.
On May 11. Dan McBride
reported the theft of bicycle
parts from his residence. A
City Police officer responded
to the call.
On May 10. a one-vehicle
accident was reported on
Highway 74 around 8:40 p.m.
in Lexington. The driver of the
vehicle, Catherine McAuliffe.
was cited for careless driving.

Mrs. Lola Breeding was
taken by her son. Faul
Breeding of La Grande, to his
daughter. Debbie Breeding, in
La Pine to attend her wedding
to Tom Jeffreys, also of La
Pine, on May 15.
On Saturday. May 16. they
attended the 96th birthday
dinner in Pilot Rock of her
Aunt Venie Anderson, who is
her mother's oldest sister.

Mr. and Mrs. Dana Sweek
Pamela Jean Garrett and Dane Alan Sweek were united in
marriage February 28, 1981, at All Saints Episcopal Church
in Heppner with the Keverend Eugene Miller of Milton
Freewater officiating.
Pam is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leif Foster of The
Dalles. Dana is the son of Evelyn and Clayton Sweek,
Heppner.
The couple recently moved to Kennewick, Wash., where
both are employed.

Shades honored on
50th anniversary
Buck and Margie Shade of Irrigon celebrated their 50th
wedding anniversary on Sunday, May 17.
, Hosts for the happy occasion were their children and their
families, including Ival and Ruth Sullivan, Mr. and Mrs. Ray
Shade and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Shade.
Friends and relatives gathered at the Fellowship Hall of
the Irrigon Assembly of God.
Buck Shade worked for many years for Pendleton Grain
Growers and is now retired. Mrs. Shade was a city council
member several years ago. She has been active in 4-H work
and at one time headed up the 4-H Community Pride
program.

25th anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Huwe celebrated their 25th wedding
anniversary at the Irrigon Lions Clubhouse on Saturday,
May 16. They both graduated from the Irrigon High School in
1955 and 1956 before the school was consolidated with
Boardman.
