and girls track teams. Since
the opening meet in Pilot
Rock, the teams have compet
ed in two other meets.
On April 23. they traveled to
Umatilla for an eight-team
meet, and on April SO. they
had a four-way meet in
Heppner at the high school
track.

Winners of the Cub Scouts Pine Wood Derby
held Monday night at the Elks Club pose with
their fathers and trophies.

The boys' fathers helped in the project
which entailed building wooden race cars to
race down a long wooden ramp set up in the
Elks' Club dining room Monday evening.
The three scouts placed in the races by
beating out around 3fi other cars entered by
scouts of Pack 661 from lone. Lexington and
Heppner.
