Barber's, who finished the season with a 15-1 record, also avenged a 51-31 loss to lone earlier this season, lone finished the year at 12-3. M M An Easter cantata, sponsor ed by the South Morrow Ministerial Association and performed by a community choir, will be held this Sunday. April 2(5. at 7:30 p.m. at the Methodist Church in Heppner. The cantata, entitled "H Took a Miracle" by John W. Peterson, will be performed under the direction of Gene Murtv. Former Irrigon man guilty of theft An Ontario. Oregon, man. Olliver L. Carver, was fined $250 and ordered to pay $900 restitution to the Forest Ser vice by a federal magistrate on April 9. Carver, who plead guily to the theft of 297 poles from the Umatilla National Forest, sold the poles to a local mill. The met t was discovered in July of 19B0. while Carver was living in Irrigon, Oregon. He left the area before the. case could be heard in Federal Court, accor ding to a Forest Service news release. It is illegal to sell poles obtained on a National Forest unless one has a commercial permit.
