..Statement:
I'm concerned with three
principal issues: First, state
and federal regulations re
quire the district to spend
unnecessary funds for com
pliance. I will work to repeal
those costly and unproductive
regulations.
Second, there is a move
ment from western Oregon to
reallocate the tax base in
utility property. We are very
dependent on that kind of
property and I will work to
preserve it.
Third, the school district
must be very efficient at its
business and provide the best
educational opportunity it can
with its available resources.

Statement:
That's a very hard question
for me since this is my first
time seeking a public office, I
feel I am open minded and
understanding - of course I'm
only human and make mis
takes as we all do. I listen to
people and "hear" what they
say. I am outspoked to a point
especially in things I
definitely believe in though I
try to see both sides of things.
I try to obtain a neutral
position in things, contrary to
what some people believe I am
sure. I have no policies
concerning the office I am
seeking other than what I have
listed above. My feeling in
dealing with people is what's
good for one is good for all.
This is true always for me not
just because I am seeking a
public office. Try to be fair in
each walk of life.
I'm not a "Miss Goodie Two
Shoes" as this letter might
sound. I'm sure I have made
my share of enemies in life by
not going along with what
people do and say always.
Also I have made my share of
friends.

of lone five years ago. Since
that time the Port of Morrow
' attracted a $500 million coal
fired plant to Morrow
County's tax base. In addition,
two major food processors are
providing jobs and tax base,
not to mention the increased
value of center pivot irriga
tion. The future holds promise of
the Port of Morrow being a

Statement:
The primary function of the
Port of Morrow is to encour
age economic activity within
its boundaries. This can in
clude maritime shipping, av

interest of the region. The
Port of Morrow has many
assets to offer a prospective
business or industry.
I first became interested in
the Port of Morrow when I was
asked to serve as a public
representative for the budget
committee 'so years ago. I
have been researching the
minutes of past port meetings
and other available material
to gain background knowledge
of port activities. Having
worked at Inland Empire
Bank for the past 10 years, I
have seen how important
economic growth can be to a
community and its surround
ing area.
The port has the ability to
help develop already estab
lished local business or bring
in new reputable business and
industry. I would like to be
part of this. I will do my best
to help plan the port's current
and future direction.
