February 28. the Cardinals bounced back to down the Condon Blue Devils for third place. tfi-fi2. The Cards jumped out to an early 23-13 first quarter lead only to see the Blue Devils rebound in the second quarter The Cards were out scored in the second quarter 24-17 but still held a 40-37 half time lead In the third quarter the Cards were outscored 1R-10 by Condon who took a 55-50 lead at the end of the period. In the fourth quarter Mark Patton. who spent much of the game on the bench in foul trouble, scored 6 points to lead the Cardinal turn around With three minutes left to play the Cards were down by five points, but pressure defense and two quick baskets by Gregg Rietmann and a rebound shot by Mark Palton got the Cards back into the game. The Cards got their final four points on a free throw bv Shawn LaRue which gave the Cards the lead, and the two free throws by Rietmann and one by Treve Peterson cinch ed the win.
