On Feb. 4, Michael Lynch
reported his vehicle broken
into while parked approxi
mately one mile from his
cabin at Blake's Ranch. A
tape deck and speakers were
taken.
Also on Feb. 4, Donna
Bergstrom reported a fire in
her attic. The Heppner Fire
Department responded.
In another Feb. 4 incident.
Deputy Cannon issued four
citations to Marino Solorzno
for allegedly having no vehicle
license, no tail lights, no valid
driver's license and no liabil
ity insurance.

County Jail.
On Feb. 8. Mitchell Bruce
Ballard arrested by the Des
chutes County Sheriff's Office
on 6th Justice Court warrants,
Morrow County, for allegedly
driving with a suspended
license and with no liability
insurance.

The Bernardie Exposition
Shows Carnival, during Sept.
1933, substained a serious fire
in or near your city. We are
seeking photographs of this
disaster. We would deem it a
very great favor if you print
our desires undre your "Let
ters to the Editor" or if you by
some means, could give us the
names and addresses of any
and-or all persons, photo
graphic studios, or access to
your newspaper photo files
(re: negatives), that may be
able to help us.
We are senior citizens that
give free show and tell
exhibits to retirees. Boy and
Girl Scouts, veterans and
disabled homes, civic clubs,
homes and apartments for the
aging, schools, etc. The
photos, along with other
criteria and a slide show and
talk make up our programs.
Tour cooperation and help
will be greatly appreciated.

Gary, a graduate of Heppner High School and Oregon State
University, is employed as a math teacher at Columbia
Junior High School at Irrigon. Rebecca, a graduate of East
Anchorage High School and Oregon State University, is an
aide in a special education classroom in the Hermiston
School District.
The couple plans a 7 p.m. June 16 wedding at the First
United Methodist Church in Anchorage.

The hills around the BMCC
campus will resound with the
sound of music next week
(Feb. 15-21). Three musical
events are scheduled involv
ing hundreds of participants.
On Sunday, Feb. 15, BMCC
will be visited by the Foothills
Choir, a 50-member group
from Los Altos Hills College in
California. Their concert is at
7:30 p.m. in the Pioneer Hall
Theatre and admission is $2.
On Tuesday, Feb. 17, around
JO BMCC music students will
be performing in recital. The
individual performances will
be in the McCrae Activity
Center, Room 152. Attendance
is open to all.
On Sunday, Feb. 21, the
college will host the District
VI Music Educators' Contest
with more than 100 students
from northeastern Oregon
high schools. Many of the
rooms all around the campus
will be used as temporary
music rooms during the com
petition. The judges will be
music authorities from the
region. Students rated super
ior will go on to the state
competition. Attendance is
welcome.

said fair board Secretary
Dorothy Estberg.
The Foods Dept. is asking
for yeast bread entries in all
lots, especially in the men's
division. Candy exhibits are
low as well as general baked
goods.
The flower, canning, needle
work, photography, commer
cial potatoes, livestock and
school exhibits were also low
for 1980.
The Fair Committee encour
ages as many as possible to
bring in exhibits to raise
points.

club meets

On Jan. 27. the Buttercreek
Livestock Club met. Vice
President Steve Miller opened
the meeting.
Nancy Bailey gave a report
on Duroc hogs. Paula
Heatherly read the minutes.
Two other new members
joined, Jason Dougherty and
Mike Currin. Members saw
slides to judge and then
discussed what animals the
members want to raise.
The next meeting will be
Feb. 10 at 8 p m. at Ron and
Judy Currin's home.
Super Sewers .
club meets
A new 4 11 sewing group
under the leadership of Mrs.
Jonn Records, was organized
in November.
The first meeting was held
Nov. 20. Members are Shelly
Riddle, president. Shannon
McLaughlin, reporter, and
Ellen Arborgast. vice presi
dent, At the Dec. meetings
members made picture
frames from cloth scraps and
trim. These made attractive
Christmas gifts.
Club members say they plan
of having a meeting every
other week on Wednesday.
WCC ladies to
meet Feb. 25
The ladies of Willow Creek
Country Club will hold their
annuul organizational meet
ing February 25 at 7:30 p.m. In
the Columbia Basin Electric
Co-op board room.
The purpose of the meeting
is to discuss the 1981 calendar
and possible use of club funds
for improvements at the
course,
Indies who have not yet
picked up trophies for 1980
may do so at the meeting.
Question of the Week: "Do you agree with President
Reagan's de-regulation of oil prices?"
"No," says David Piper, 20, Heppner. "They're high
enough already. The oil companies always claim shortages
and I don't think there is a shortage. They (the oil
companies) just say there is so they can get away with it."
Wedding Announcement
Ford - Howard
The Lexington Christian Church was the scene f the
marriage of Tammy Howard and Steve Ford of Pendleton.
The bride is the daughter of Kenneth Howard of Lexington
and Carolyn Howard of Pendleton. Given in marriage by
her father, Tammy was lovely in a floor-length gown of white
satin with an overskirt of chantilly lace. The gown featured
an empire waist and sheer sleeves. The net veil was held by a
cap adorned with seed pearls. She carried a bouquet of white
carnations and white roses accented with yllo& and orange
tips and white baby's breath.
She was attended by her step-sister, Dawna Devin, as
bridesmaid. Dawna wore a gown of yellow organza trimmed
with white lace. Matt Howard, the bride's brother, was the
best man, with Amy Strahm in charge of the guest book.
The Rev. Bob Nash of the Christian Church in Lexington
officiated at the single-ring ceremony, with vocalist Ella Mae
Green accompanying herself at the piano.
A wedding reception was held following the ceremony at
the home of the bride's father and step-mother, Mr. and Mrs.
Kenneth Howard in Lexington.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Ford of
Pendleton.
The young couple will make their home in Pendleton where
the groom is employed.
The new Mrs. Ford is a former Lexington resident and
attended school in Heppner before moving to Pendleton.
