Beware of bogus
job info kits
To the Editor:
Those of us affiliated with
the Alaska Highway Pipeline
Project and concerned about
the appearance of ads around
the country which purport to
sell information that will
enable a person to land a
"high paying job" on our
project. We would appreciate
your cooperation in warning
readers in your area that
some of the information con
tained in these so-called "job
information kits" is mislead
ing. To begin with, our current
project schedule calls for
pipeline construction to com
mence in 1983. As a result, we
will not be doing any sub
stantial hiring until at least
1982. Even then, most hiring
will be done through execution
contractors who will be an
nounced at the appropriate
time in the "Alaskan News
line," our monthly newsletter,
and through press releases.
In addition, detailed in
formation concerning the
terms and conditions of em-
ployment and the selection of
those contractors who will
perform the field construction
of our project is not available
What's your opinion?

Question of the week : "Do you think 1981 will be better than
1980 was?"
"I'm hoping so, "says Lydia Wilson. Heppner, "because
the last year has been an awful one - pay and everything. I
think us old folks should have a little more than we're
getting."
