Question: Do you think it will matter which candidates win
in the Nov. 4 election?
"Yes, in a way 1 think it will matter," says Ray Banka, 30,
of Heppner. "I haven't watched too many of the candidates'
' programs, but each has his own campaign policies and each
has some good ideas. But, we need someone who will bring
the country out financially and worry about people here
instead of abroad."

Screach out and call your favorite ghoul friend or monster.
In keeping with the Hal

west Bell will treat its Oregon
customers to a free, 10-minute
telephone call Halloween
night from midnight, until 2
a.m., Saturday, November 1.
Roy Schnaible, division
manager, residence services,
says customers can call any
where in the state, and as long
as the call is dialed directly
and is no more than 10 minutes
in length, it will be free,
free.
"This is an opportunity for
those who don't make many -long
distance calls to make a
free long distance call any
where in Oregon," he says.
"The Halloween free call idea
is also intended to spotlight
the company's low intrastate,
direct dialed rates.

The promotional long dis

Regular cooling system check

Your car's cooling system,
like I he proverbial chain, is us

real ilcpcmtuhility, every part of
the cooling system should he in

Automotive Cooling System
Institute lists several ureas with
which car owners should be

Let's look ut them:

2. PRESSURE CAP. Ami
freezecoolunt boils at a higher
temperuture under pressure
than it docs ut normal uIiihm
pheric pressure. Therefore, the
role of the pressure cup, which
controls the operating pressure
of the cooling system, is vitul.
When the pressure cup is
leaking or otherwise malfunc
tioning, the engine is likely to
overheat.
