Gardeners to work at school in Lexington In one game the Fillies were behind 212, but then they had a comeback to 11-12 with the combined effort and serves of the whole team. That game r: Beginning the first week of November (next week) and continuing through the month, members of the Heppner Garden Club will le working to make decorative items to sell nt the Dec. 8 Artifactory. The work sessions will be on Monday afternoons from 1:30 p.m. and on Thursday eve nings from 7 p.m. Last Saturday dry materiuls from several members' homes were taken to the work place, the school head(uarter's kit chen at Lexington. MemlH-rs and their families and friends will find that this year's work place is much more spacious and comfort able than last year's. It is urgent that as many as possible come both on Monday afternoons and on Thursday evenings to fashion salable items. Each person should bring along needed tools wire, pliers, clay, and any other usable materials. Toward the end of the month there will be a weekend of greens gathering for the annual Greens Workshop which will again be held in the 4 H Annex during the same hours as the AAUW Artifact ory. The November meeting of the Heppner Garden Club will tie on Monday evening Nov. 10, at the home of Alberta Johannes on D. Cox Canyon road. ended with the score of 11-15, but they tried. Our apologies to the lone Band and the lone Band Parents' Club who are in the process of raising funds to buy new band uniforms. The lone volleyball team played Heppner at home on Tuesday, Oct. 21. The Cards were defeated 15-3 and 15-2. The Cards started the game off with some really good plays, but couldn't seem to keep the momentum going. The Cardinals have two games remaining in the sea son. The first will be on Thursday, Oct 30, at Wahton ka ; the game will be played at 5 p.m. The last game will be Saturday, Nov. 1, against Sherman County; the game will be played at 1 p.m. Social Security rep to visit The Social Security repre sentative . will be at the Heppner Neighborhood Cen ter, 178 Willow, on Friday, Nov. 14, from 10 a.m. till noon. The Fillies won with the scores of 15-3 and 15-2. Nancy Miller was the high point server with nine points in the first match. Other high point servers were Kellie Hammond with eight and Sandra Ward with five. The rest of the points were scattered throughout the team. Coach Terjeson said that the Fillies "served well and we had some good spikes. "Mar garet Kincaid led in spikes and blocking spikes. The lone game put the Fillies 5-3 in district. The "rough and tough and all that stuff" seniors and freshmen took on the "jumping for joy" juniors and sophomores.
