In 1 973, PGE foresaw the need for additional generating plants to keep up with the people's need for electricity in the 1980s and beyond. It was then that the idea was developed. And, this month, the once futuristic idea of the Boardman Power Project will officially become a reality . . .an idea whose time has come. The dedication of the Boardman Coal Plant marks more than the generation of a much needed 530,000 kilowatts of electricity. It stands as a constant reminder of PGE and our partners' commitment to provide the power the people in the Northwest need to run our homes and perform ourjobs. We, along with our partners, Idaho Power Company and Pacific Northwest Generat ing Company, cordially invite you to attend our Open House to view the plant The Open House will be Saturday, September 20th, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday, Septem ber 21st, from noon to 4 p.m. The plant is located 1 1 miles south of the interchange of Tower Road and 1-84.
