Page 2-Special Fair & Rod) Section 1QHEMJLE OF EVENT! 4-H events starts Monday Events for 4-H members start Saturday, Aug. 16, with style revue judging that mor ning and the 4-H Horse Show beginning at 2 p.m. Exhibits may be entered Sunday after noon or by 9 a.m. Monday. Judging of exhibits, contests and events carry on through out the following three days. There's something happen ing all the time with 4-H at county fair. Come out and enjoy. What's a fair without clowns What's a county fair without clowns? We know where some of the clowns will be this year when fair starts. "4-H Circus in Beautiful Morrow County" will be the theme followed in decorating the 4-H Annex. The familiar room will be alive with clowns and balloons on walls to brighten the atmos phere where home ec girls and boys exhibit and participate in contests. Yearly, superintendents and leaders try to come up with new and original ideas for the special 4-H place at fair. They have received high ratings and praise from the state fair evaluators for their creative displays and attractive at mosphere. There'll be real live clowns around the fair grounds at times during fair, but in the meantime, come visit the "4-H Circus" in the Annex. AUGUST 19 Judging 4-H & FFA Livestock Conformation classes 4-H Foods contest, 4-H Annex Horse Shoe Pitching Contest 4-H Presentations start, 4-H Annex Senior Citizens Cookie Judging Slipper Kicking Contest Rooster Crowing Contest 4 H "Make A Better Burger" contest, 4 H Annex 4-H Sewing Skills contest, 4 H Annex 4-H Foods Members bring foods exhibits that are going to State Fair. 4 H Annex Lots of good eating at snack shack There will be the usual good eating at the 4-H Snack Shack again this year during county fair, including breakfast on Monday, Tuesday and Wed nesday mornings. Pete Rich ards, fair board chairman and 4-H leader will again serve as general purchasing agent and chairman for the 4-H Snack Shack, with assistance from volunteer parents and leaders. The Snack Shack will be open Saturday, Aug. 16, for the 4-H Horse Show, with leaders and parents from the Country Critters Club providing the man power that day. Regular schedule for the Shack starts Sunday at 11 a.m. to provide good eating and cool drinks during the Wranglers Open Horse Show. The facility will be open for the remainder of the fair from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. The Snack Shack is the only money making project carried out each year by the 4-H Council. Proceeds made sup port many 4-H activities including scholarships for any young person to attend camp, funds to send representatives to Know Your State Govern ment Conference, Achieve ment Nights, awards and other worthwhile projects. Parents, friends, 4-H mem bers, or anyone interested in helping support the 4-H prog ram are encouraged to call 676-9642 to volunteer two or more hours of their time to fill the work shifts. The Snack Shack is the center of activity at fair... there's no better place to see your neighbor, or a friendly face for a visit than in the shade near the Snack Shack. Good economical food for everyone is provided, along with milk or soft drinks.
