ItiKii -KI.KVKN Lexington reunion June 28 announced at Grange o Lexington Grange met on May 26. starting with potluck dinner at 6:S0. with Mr. and Mra. Glover Peck In charge. . The meeting was called to order by Master Barbara Cutsforth at 6. ' Reports of the various committee were presented, and measures to be voted on were discussed. It was announced that the fourth Lexington school re union will be at the Lexington Grange Hall June 28. The day will begin with registration at 9:30 and a potluck dinner at noon and a short program following. The day is planned for visiting and getting re acquainted with schoolmates and friends. A small fee of 23 cents per member is being charged at registration. The evening will be left open for individual classes to get together. A program was pre sented by the Lexington Soil Erosion District, organized In 1917 by people Interested In controlling the loss of soil by wind. Two of the charter members are Karl Miller and O W, Cutsforth with the rest being deceased, This group of men drew up a request and presented It to the legislature, where it was , approved and the first district was formed. Kenneth Smouse and Alfred Nelson Jr. prepared the pro gram and it was presented by Smouse, who read some of the first minutes. The next grange meeting will be June 21 at 8 with the refreshments and program to follow. Virginia Peck received the afghan given by the grange. It was announced that Wheatland Pamona District Meeting will be July 26 at the Rhea Creek Grange Hall Rtarting at 10:30 Birthdays for the following were ob served: Betty Brown. Orville Cutsforth, Kenneth Jones. Charma Marquardt, Carl Smouse. Norman Nelson, Vir ginia Peck, and Josie Peck. Brownlee and Oxbow Dam sights, and a reception held honoring a member. Freda Majeske. when she was an appointed state officer, and of a party given by Freda Majeske and Florence McMillan when re turning from a trip to the islands. There were pictures of departed members: The Barnett Sisters. Bertha Hunt, Merle Cornell son and others. Bernice Wihlon of Redmond was a visitor in Lexington and Heppner Thursday. Michael Jones returned to his home Sunday evening from a couple of days spent in Pioneer Memorial Hospital.' He received a knee injury when he fell in a piece of wire. He is to remain in bed for two weeks at home. He is the five-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Jones. Mrs. Ronald Ward (Martha Peck) and sister Jeanette Hughs are visiting their par ents. Mr. and Mrs. Glover Peck, from their home in Douglas, Alaska. Mr. and Mrs Tom Bradd and daughter Josie of Ontario, are visiting her mother Mrs. Gladys VanWinkle and they attended the graduation of Lori Edwards at lone High School. , Charlene and Kimmberlee Whitney and Frank Wilcox of Portland and Mr. and Mrs.' C.C.
