Troedson Educational Fund have been awarded to 33 students from Morrow Coun- The fund was established under the last will and testament of the late Mr. Troedson, prominent wheat rancher of the lone area. Announcements of the awards for graduating seniors were made at commencement exercises at the county's three high schools last week. Grants in the amount of $700 each have been awarded to the following senior students: Heppner High School: Todd Harrison, Dale Holland. San dra Hudson, Larry Palmer, Jim Parker. lone High School: Tim Holt. Martha McElligott. Larry Snider. Riverside High School: Carol Donovan, Mari Evans. Gary Gordenier, James Mills, Curtis Viall. These students may apply for renewal of their grants, provided that good academic standing is maintained during the first year of their college or training programs. Students whose grants are being renewed to assist in continuing programs and ad vanced schooling are the following: Heppner High School: Ar ietta Aldrich. Cally Broad bent. Mary Daly. Barbara Devine. The selection committee consists of the Morrow County school superintendent, the pastor of the Valby Lutheran Church and the Morrow county judge, as stipulated in Mr. Troedson's will. Man sentenced in case of harrassment Thomas Koehler in Justice Court last week was found guilty of harassment and Justice Charlotte Gray sentenced him to a $260 fine and a 30-day suspended jail sentence. Koehler was charged with assault in the fourth degree and harassment in connection with an incident involving Everett Harshman of Hep pner. Koehler was also sentenced to pay all the medical bills incurred by Harshman as a result of that incident. Koehler will be on probation for one year. Firt National reports deposits The Heppner branch of First National Bank of Oregon reported deposits of $12,683,000 as of March 31. 1980. This compared with $14,803,000 on March 31. 1979. On March 31. 1979. the Heppner branch held substan tial short-term deposits, which . should not be considered part of the normal deposit base. On March 31 . 1980, the branch had relatively little in short-term deposits.
