April 24. 1980 Angell, Ball, Kemp win two events each at Wrangler's second Play day Craig Angell, Andrea Ball and Sherry Kemp all picked up two wins apiece in their respective age group divisions at the Morrow County Wran glers second Playday last Sunday. In the six-year-old and under category, Cherle Papi neau was first in the barrels at 35.33 with Heather Eckman second at 41.58, Steve Hoff man third at 44.44 and Jason Britt fourth at 44.95. In the poles, Hoffman was first in 39.48 with Eckman second in 39.90, Holly Eckman third in 53.29 and Shelley Ashbeck fourth in 2:04.41. In the figure 8 stake race. Amy Greenup was first in 16.65, Holly Eckman second in 16.91, Heather Eckman third in 16.98 and Britt fourth in 18.73. Heather Eckman was first in the hat race in 17.21, Britt was second in 24.90, Travis Greenup third in 27.77 and Holly Eckman fourth in 31.83. For the seven to nine-year-olds, Angie Ashbeck was first in the barrels at 21.20, Michele Papineau second in 24.58, Craig Angell third in 25.34 and Russell Britt fourth at 26.12. In the poles, Papineau was first in 29.53, Mike Van Schoiack second in 32.63, Angell third in 30.41 and Ashbeck fourth in 37.39. Angell was first in the tennis ball race in 16.20 with Rob Ashbeck second in 28.62 and Van Schoiack third in 31.59. Angell was also first in the hat race with a time of eight seconds with Papineau second in 9.77. Britt third in 11.11 and Rob Ashbeck fourth in 11.66. For the 10 to 13 age group, Andrea Ball won the barrels in 19 16, Bridgett Greenup was second 20.09, Jason Dougherty third in 20.34 and Richard Burres fourth in 21.16. Burres was first in the poles in 24.95. Shane Burres second in 25.28. Greenup third in 28.63 and Bobft'e Angell fourth in 30.55. In the tennis ball race, Angell was first in 23.92, Duane Ball second in 28.37, Jimmy Cason third in 34.29 and Frank Cason fourth in 38.28. Andrea Ball was also second in the ring race in 16.22 with Greenup second in 17.13. Scott Dougherty third in 19.75 and Richard Burres fourth in 20.98. For the W to 18-year-olds, Anita Palmer was first in the barrels with a time of 19.23., Jana Steagall was close be hind in 19 69 with Marie Van Schoiack third in 19.81 and Don Kindsfather fourth in 19.89. In the poles, Anne Van Schoiack was first in 23.63, Steagall second in 25.50, Pat Schwarz third in 27.49 and Fishing season opens April 26 Fishing season in Willow, Rhea and Butter Creeks will open April 26, according to Glen Ward of the state game department. The limit is five fish, six inches and longer, in the streams. Lake fishing also begins in Penland. Cutsforth and Bull Prairie lakes. The limit is 10 fish a day, six inches and larger. Five of the 10 fish cannot be larger than 12 inches. Ward said rainbow trout are scheduled to be stocked in Willow Creek before the season begins. All other streams will open May 24. Ward said the reason for the late opening is to protect young steelhead who have not made it to the ocean. Baseball umps needed soon There will be an organiza tional meeting for all persons interested in umpiring in the Heppner Little League April 28 at 7:30 p.m. at Heppner High School in Room 10.
