April 15. is the deadline for calendar-year taxpayers to file their federal income tax returns. Taxpay ers can extend the deadline for two months by filing a Form 4868. Applications for Automa tic Extension of Time to File U.S. Individual Income Tax Return. The form must be filed on or before April 15 in order to be valid. IRS cautions taxpayers that filing a Form 4868 will not extend the date the tax is due. Those taxpayers who expect to owe tax on their returns are required to estimate the amount of the tax and pay it Four among OCE's smartest Four students from the Morrow County area are among 394 students at the Oregon College of Education in Monmouth who have been named to the honor roll for winter term receiving grades of a 3.5 average or better. Shaw, Heppner, has been named coordinator for the Jewel Lansing for State Treasurer campaign in Mor row County. Lansing, the elected Mult nomah County auditor, was the Democratic candidate for state treasurer in the 1976 general election and seeks the designation again in the May primary- A reading specialist at Heppner Elementary School, Shaw was Wheeler County coordinator for the Jewel Lansing for State Treasurer campaign in 1976. She is a former vice chairperson of the Wheeler County Democratic Central Committee and a precinct committeewoman for Kinzua. According to Shaw, Paul Jones of Heppner will serve as chairperson of the Jewel Lansing for State Treasurer Committee in Morrow County. Other officers are Edna Peck of Heppner, vice chairperson, and Barbara Bloodsworth of Lexington, secretary-treasurer. This study contains flood plain maps showing the areas that would be inundated by a 100-year flood, flood elevation profiles, and flood insurance rate maps for the use of financial institutions and in surance agents in determining who must purchase flood insurance and the cost of the insurance. Final issuance of this study will mark a change in the County's status in the Federal Flood Insurance Program from the "emergency pro gram" to the "regular pro gram."
