Agricultural seminar scheduled in Umatilla The Farm and Ranch Exe cutive Seminar III, "Making Agriculture Investment Deci sion," will explore the use of programmable calculators for analyzing agricultural invest- Boardman bounds 9 A preliminary count within the city limits in Boardman shows a "population of 1,417 which is nine percent more than the estimate made last year by the Portland State University for Population Re search and Census. As a result of the recount, City Manager Jim Thompson expects approximately $3,000 more in state revenue for the city. The recount census cost $1,400. Thompson said he expects a population of about 1,450 when the absentee persons are included in the count. ments. The seminar is scheduled at the Columbia Inn in Umatilla, Feb. 28-29. The seminar is intended for farm managers and agricultural lenders. "Programmable calcula tors are a relatively easy and inexpensive way to bring the latest micro-chip technology to the farm," said Gene Nelson, Oregon State Univer sity Extension farm manage ment specialist. The seminar will focus on how the programmable calcu lator can be used to help make difficult farm investment de cision. Special attention will be given to land investment.
