Budget proposals presented included an additional instruc tor in the Business Depart ment, a half-time instructor in small-business records man agement, a half-time grounds keeper, a half-time graphic artist and a part-time secre tary at the Hermiston Center. Reductions of $176,315 from the original budget requests came in the areas of travel, personnel and equipment. "After reading newspaper accounts and visiting with local and state educators, I am firmly convinced that both our budget increase and tax levy increase will be among the lowest in the area and the state." Wool and lamb producers file for incentive payments Wool and lamb producers have only until today to file for their 1979 incentive payments, according to Judy Buschke, the county executive director Morrow County agricultural stabilization and conservation service office. "Sales slips from 1979 wool and unshorn lamb marketings must be presented before producers can receive the payments," she said. Shorn wool prices averaged between 80 and 85 cents per pound last year and the support price was $1.15 a pound. The rate of payment will be announced about the first of April and payments will be made shortly thereafter she said. Support prices for 1980 shorn wool marketings will be $1.23 per pound and $2,903 per pound for mohair. Ms. Buschke said the 1980 support price for each commodity is at 72.4 percent of parity. Pulled wool will continue to be supported at a level compar able to the support price for shorn wool through payments on unshorn lambs, according to Ms. Buschke. As in past years, shorn wool payments for 1980 will be based on a percent of each producer's returns from sales. ', The percentage will be the amount required to raise the national average price re- ceived by all producers for ; shorn wool sold in 1980 up the " $1.23 per pound support price. Mohair payments will be calculated in a manner simi lar to wool, according to Ms. '; Buschke. However, these pay ments probably will not be necessary in 1980 as it appears r, that the average market price received by producers in the . open market will be higher I than the support price.
