TWELVE The Heppner Gazette-Times. Ileppner, Oregon, Thursday, November 8, 1979
Our Salute
Veteran's Daythe day we honor those who have served in the
military services and fought in the nation's wars!
Remember the roll call of battlefields-from those of 1917-18 in France
to the names of World War II: Pearl Harbor , Bataan , Guadalcanal, Sicily
and the Normandy beachhead; the Korean conflict and Vietnam. In all of
them, Men and Women of the Armed Forces served their country honorably.
Monday , Nov. 12, is the day set aside for a grateful nation to pay tribute to
T
those who have served in uniform when the United States faced peril and strife!
