lone Lions plan creek project
Bill Johnson of the lone
Lions Club said volunteers are
invited Saturday to assist in
the clean-up of Willow Creek.
The assembly point is the
lone High School parking lot.
The project is to remove
brush and other obstacles
from the creek bed that would
tend to cause flooding.
"We'll cover as much of the
creek parallel to the town as
we can," Johnson said.
"That's why we're asking for
volunteers."
Lunch will be served by the
lone Sorority Club at noon in
the high school cafeteria.

The East Central Oregon
Association of Counties meets
this morning at 10 at the
Columbia Basin Electric Co
op in Heppner.

The Blue Mountain Com
munity College board of
education was to meet at the
lone High School Wednesday.
Items on the agenda were to
include Drovidine the handi
capped access to the college's
business department in Pen
dleton. The department is up a
short flight of stairs in Morrow

staircase curves and that
support pillars are at the base
of the stairs compounds prob
lems of access for students in
wheelchairs or oh crutches.

in Fibrosis drive
The Cycstic Fibrosis drive
in lone last Thursday collec
ted $212 for the cause.
June Crowell, chairman of
the drive, would like to thank
all the volunteers who collec

residents who contributed.
Last year, the drive collec
ted $185 s and Crowell had
hoped to pass the $200 level
