Noella Rill, lone, was the
lone competitor in the knitting
style revue.
Monday's pet show held at 1
p.m. drew an assortment of
animals from grasshoppers,
sheep, dogs of all kinds
including puppies, rabbits and
chickens with chilren 5-11
years old receiving red, white
and blue ribbons and the new
Susan B. Anthony silver
dollars. The dollars were so
small the Fair Secretary
Nancy Bruch had to caution
parents to tell the children
they weren't quarters.
Anofher event designed for
children was the Kid's Coin
Hunt held Sunday at the
livestock barn. A large num
ber of children sorted through
mounds of straw to net their
fortunes in change as parents
watched or helped the younger
ones.
The adult livestock exhibi
tion was slated for Monday at
8 p.m. and the Fair Awards
program at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday
in the covered show ring.
The Fair ended Wednesday
with the removal of exhibits
and the beginning of planning
for next year's spectacular.
Osteopath joining medical staff
at North Morrow Health Clinic
A new physician to staff the
North Morrow Clinic in Board
man was expected to arrive
Monday, according to Alice
Bartlett, Hospital Board
member and chairman of the
Boardman Doctor Search
Committee.
Bartlett and members of the
recruitment committee re
viewed contract matters Au
gust 15 with the County Court
before arrival of Dr. James R.
Anderson.
Dr. Anderson, 34, is a 1977
graduate of the Kirksville
College of Osteopathic Medi
cine, Kirksville, Missouri, and
has operated a general prac
tice in Wilton, Iowa for the
past two years.
He served an internship -at
the Davenport, Iowa Osteo
pathic Clinic and prior to
college training, he served in
the United States Air Force as
a member of the military
police.
He and wife, Christy, have
three children, two boys and a
girl.
The contract to be signed
with the new physician stipu
lates that Anderson will re
ceive a $30,000 guaranteed
salary plus $6,000 towards
malpractice insurance. If he
generates over $128,000 in
gross revenues to the clinic
during the medical care
budget's fiscal year, he will
receive an additional 40 per
cent of the gross, Bartlett told
the Gazette-Times.

Forest Service is considering
an exchange of land with Boy
Scouts of America, Blue
Mountain Council No. 604
under the authority of the Acts
of March 20, 1922, as amended
(16 U.S.C. 485,486), and Octo

tion of the Forest Service that

Any or all of the above
described lands may be ex
changed provided the values
are equal. In the event the
values are not equal, either
party may equalize the values
by the payment of cash. The
amount of cash to be paid may
not exceed twenty-five per
cent of the value of the Forest
Service lands.
Persons claiming such pro
perties or having valid objec
tions to this proposed ex
change must file their claims
or objectives with the Re
gional Forester, U.S. Forest
Service, P.O. Box 3623, Port
land, Oegon 97208, within 15
days after date of the last
publication of this notice.

Bartett also reported that
Anderson's wife is a regis
tered nurse and the new
physician has agreed to do
emergency services, riding in
the North Morrow ambulance
when needed. He has a brother
in Bend.
He is surgery qualified and
is patient-oriented, the board
member told the court.
He is also interested in doing
obstetrics.
The recruitment committee
made up of Bartlett, Board
man Mayor Jerry Peck, and
Ray Alsup recommended that
the County Court appoint a
board of directors tc oversee
operations of the North Mor
row Clinic. Judge Nelson said
he would confer with County
District Attorney Dennis Do
herty before creating the
board as an advisory group to
the main Hospital Board.
In other action, the County
Court aereed with Orville
Two new ambulances
expected from Boise
The county's two new ambu
lances had not arrived by
August 13 as promised by a
Boise company, Breakaway
Inc., but according to the
Director of Nursing, Karmon
Bjella, the new vehicles are
expected to be in Saturday's
Rodeo Parade in Heppner.
Robert Elliott of Break
away, said the new ambu
lances, would be delivered by
this week. Hospital Auxiliary
members had hoped to display
the South Morrow County
ambulance at the fair but will
run it in Saturday's parade,
Bjella said.

program have been published
by the U.S. Department of
Agriculture.
State agencies that admi
nister the food stamp program
will be required to monitor
