RODEO!
Bob Mahoney of Heppner was
one of the ropers vying for the
Kinzua-sponsored Severe
Brothers saddle given away
each year during the Morrow
County show at the three-day
rodeo. This year Morrow
County Grain Growers has
added another trophy saddle
and area merchants have
addfd many more trophy
buckles to be presented to
winners in the Morrow County
Show. Saturday and Sunday
action in the WRA Approved
rodeo shows is typical of the
unidentified saddle bronc
rider.

top honors Friday night
The culmination of this
year's fair and rodeo activi
ties will be the Morrow County
Rodeo to be held Friday,
August 24 at 7 p.m. with
signups Monday, August 20
from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Open Rodeo is slated for

In the Morrow County
Rodeo, events to be run
include the Calgary Cow
Milking Mugger, Open Calf
Roping, Morrow County Bull
dogging, Cow Riding, Junior
Barrels, Senior Barrels,
Breakaway, Team Roping and
the Morrow County Calf
Roping.
Two saddles will be given
away, one for the all-around
title presented by the Morrow
County Grain Growers, and
the calf roping champion will
receive a saddle from the
Kinzua Corporation. There is
also the $50 Ail-Around Cuts
forth Award. Belt buckles will
be awarded to the winners of
the Calgary Cow Milking
Mugger and team roping
events.
The Open Rodeo will see a
variety of events from bare
back, team roping, saddle
bronc, bull riding, steer
wrestling, calf roping and
barrels with purses for each
event.
There will be races each day
in four divisions, 2 lap cow
pony, 2 lap cow girl, baton
relay and pony express.
The open rodeo is expected
to attract top name rodeo
talent as well as local cowboys.
