Family Fun Night features old autos,
Rucilez Bros., and chicken dinner
The 1979 Morrow County
Fair will see a new develop
ment on Family Fun Night
slated for Saturday, August 18
beginning at 5 p.m. at the
County Fairgrounds.
A fleet of antique cars,
Model A's and Model T's,
arranged by Bob Harrison of
Lexington will parade through
the arena stirring up a night of
fun and entertainment.
A chicken dinner is sched
uled between 5:30 and 7 p.m.
and at 7 p.m. is the coronation
of the Pioneer King and
Queen. This year's honor goes
to Mr. and Mrs. Zerl Gillespie
who have served on the fair
board for 15 years. Mr.
Gillespie has been active in
several Boardman events and
served on the council.
Senior
Citizen
Day is
Sunday
Sunday, August 18, has been
declared Senior Citizen Day.
This year's entire fair has
been dedicated to the senior
citizens of Morrow County.
Fair passes for these senior
citizens are free and are
available through the Neigh
borhood Center, or from the
Fair Secretary.

Why is this sewing machine
acting up right now?
Who would believe that this
lovely, poised, well-dressed,
well groomed young lady
appearing now in the public
style show had just recovered
from fair fever? There she is,
the picture of loveliness, the
typical American girl, show
ing the product of the weeks
agony; graciously accepting
the judge's placing, and the
praise of her peers.
Back in the exhibit hall, all
. those foods prepared under
such stress, have been judged.
They are things of beauty and
excellent quality. The blue
and purple ribbons attest to
this fact.
Forgotten are the past
weeks of preparation... she is
at the county fair.. .and she is
having fun ! Who are we to tell
her that she should have
started sooner? She is our
youthful generation and needs
to do it her way learning by
doing.
The Jesse Rucilez Brothers
will be performing for the
show and dance following the
dinner and coronation of the
Pioneer Royalites. Jesse
They replace the scheduled
Michele Colette Show and
Dance. Ms. Colette had to
cancel her trip because of
illness.
Family fun night is designed
for fairgoers to have fun, relax
and enjoy summertime enter
tainment. It's one of the many
fun times at the 1979 Morrow
County Fair.
There will be a pre-sale of
dinner tickets from Virginia
Peck or from several busi
nesses in the community.
Champion animals have their
own pens this year
This year the champion in
each class will have their own
pen to roam around in.
With this new addition, 4-H
leaders hope to give more
recognition to those animals
that are the tops in their class.
They will be located together
so you will know where to find
all of the champions.
Animals as large as market
i steers and as small as guinpa
pigs will have their own cage
or pen. Champion Alley will be
located in the south end of the
old "Dairy Barn."
Market Stock Sale Deleted

be held August 21st at 7:30
p.m. in the covered show
