' Mrs. Mary Adams has
returned to her home after a
successful eye operation in
Portland. It has been neces
sary to make quite a number
of trips to Portland to see the
doctor concerning her eyes.
She was taken to Portland last
Thursday and planned to go
again Monday for a check-up.
Dorma Bell, who is District
G Director for the Lions Clubs,
attended the mid-winter Con
ference of Lions International
in Medford. One of the points
of business was the form
ulating of plans for the Lions'
state convention which will be
held in late May at the Lloyd
Center in Portland. The date
will be announced later.
Mrs. Bell lives in Irrigon
with her husband Charles.
However they are still mem
bers of the Boardman Lions'
Club, since they joined the
club there before moving to
rrigon.
Mr. and Mrs. Pat (Tiny)
McDonough also attended the
Lions conference. Adela Mc
Donough returned home with
Mrs. Bell. McDonough had
some vacation time coming so
spent a week visiting his
relatives in California before
returning home.
Mr. and Mrs. Ed Johnson,
who sponsored an exchange
student from Australia, have .
said good-bye to Carol Mann,
who left Jan. 24.
She participated in many
activities while here, such as
attending the Irrigon Lioness
meeting, and seemed to really
enjoy being here. Her parents
operate a dairy farm 140 miles
from Sydney and she is very
much an outdoor girl. It was
much too cold here at this time
of year to be out of doors very
much.
It was a different story with
Michelle Doghaun. They took
her skiing which she seemed
to enjoy, and to other activi
ties but she became homesick
and after two weeks returned
to her home. She had been a
guest of Mr. and Mrs. Pat
McDonough.

Bob Dickerson of Pasco,
spoke in the evening service at
the Assembly of God, Jan. 18.
He has ministered with suc
cess for a number of years in
prison and jail services. He
has shared many experiences
where inmates were convert
ed and began ministering
themselves to fellow inmates.
Much of his work has been
within the Montana State
Prison.
He was accompanied by
Evangelist Larry MaKeef who
spoke briefly and sang several
songs of his own composition.
Pastor and Mrs. Allen
Gordanier and members of
the Assembly church board
and their wives attended the

Mr. and Mrs. Warren
Prouty of Irrigon have return
ed from a vacation to San
Francisco, Los Angeles, and
Quartsite, Ariz. In Quartsite
they met with Mrs. Pouty's
parents Mr. and Mrs. Rex
Paulson.
Prouty broke his leg on Jan.
6, when he fell from a ladder,
while working at hauling
potatoes. One good reason to
take a vacation. He expected
to go back to work when he
returned but the doctor told
him he needed two more
weeks to recover. With this
weather he should have stayed
in Arizona, he said. He will be
hauling seed potatoes from
Montana when he returns to
work.
Bart Prouty of Irrigon has
enlisted in the Army and is
stationed at Fort Benning, Ga.
for basic training and later his
specialized training. He ex
pects to be there until April.
He is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Warren Prouty of Irrigon.
His wife, Caroline, will
remain in Irrigon with her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Gillette, until he has com
pleted his basic training.
