Flood waters inundated homes, businesses and schools as these
photos evidence. Clockwise, top left, lonians survey the town'
main street with dike of hay bales in foreground. Water laps
at the front door of lone High School as it did in other lone
buildings. Ladd farms, north of lone was completley separated
from the highway by a river of water. Heppner's Morgan
Street Bridge, already a shaky structure, had water pushing
against strained beams. Heppner City Hall was literally the city's
'water office' as Wynn Crist bails water.
