the bride of Rick Kandle
during an Aug. 27 garden
ceremony in Fossil.
The wedding rite took
place at the home of
Justice of the Peace Milt
Boring, who officiated dur-
- ing the ceremony. Atten
dees were Theresa Hyatt
' and Gene Crowell. -
Lexington
Grange to
hold dinner,
card party
Lexington Grange will hold
a dinner and a card party on
Saturday, Sept. 23, starting at
6:30 p.m.
The public is invited to
attend.
A reception followed at
the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Steve Conlee of Fossil.
The new Mrs. Kandle is
the daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Howard Crowell of
lone, and Kandle is the son
of Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Reid, also of lone. The
newlyweds are at home in
lone.
Hospital
Auxiliary to
meet Sept. 16
A ' meeting of the Pioneer
Memorial Hospital Auxiliary
will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday
in the Columbia Basin Electri
cal Co-op's conference room.
Anyone interested is invited
to attend. Further information
may be obtained by contacting

Morrow County Fair and
Rodeo Courts brought home
two tropheys this Saturday,
Sept. 9 when they attended the
Boardman Harvest Festival
parade and luncheon where
they received first place in the
Royal Seat Groups.
Saturday evening they went
to Pendleton where they took
part in the Dress-Up Parade
and there they received the
2nd place trophy out of the
visiting Royality group.
This is the first time the
Morrow County Court ever
received a trophy in this
parade.
Those going with Queen
Donna, Kim and Laurie, were
pennant bearers.Anita Pal
mer, Chris Pettyjohn, Tammy
Holtz and Nancv Miller.
Parents going were Mr. and
Mrs. Lee Palmer, and Debora.
Mr. Skip Pettyjohn, Mrs. Cleo
Childers, Mrs. Harold Holtz
and Tim, and Mrs.Tad Miller
and Steve.
The courts next appearance
will be their last one, which
will be this Friday for the
Westward Ho Parade.
The Morrow County Histori
cal Society will hold its fourth
annual meeting at the lone
American Legion Hall on
Sunday, Sept. 24.
A potluck will precede the
meeting, starting at 1 :30 p.m.,
with turkey and dressing to be
furnished by the Society.
Jim DuPuis of the Umatilla
Bunchgrass Rebekah Lodge
holds Sept. 7 meeting
County Historical Society will
be the main speaker during
the auei nooii. Enlei tdiiuiieiit
will be furnished by Robert
Stevens on the fiddle, accomp
anied by his daughter. Barb
ara Cutsforth will show slides
of local interest.
Terms will expire this year
for Morrow County Historical
Society directors Ruth McCa

Society is planning a weekend
bus trip to visit historical
points in John Day.

during a Sept. 7 meeting of the
Bunchgrass Rebekah Lodge
No. 91.
The afternoon meeting,
chaired" by Vera Rietmann,
was'preceded by a luncheon,
with 16 members attending.
ThS next meeting will be Sept.
21 in the home of Ida Coleman.
