The Heppner FFA Chapter
will be well represented at the

at South Albany High School in
Albany.
At district competition held
the past two weeks several
members of the local chapter
have earned the right to
attend the state confab.
Krynn Robinson, president
of the Heppner FFA, was
nominated to run for state
office as a district representa
tive. Julie Grieb will be
attending as the newly elected
District Vice-president and
Marie VanSchoiack will at
tend as the newly elected
District Reporter.
In adHiMnn, Miss Van
Schoiack's scrapbook won a
first and Miss Robinson's
record book won a first at
district. Second place awards
went to Miss Grieb for her
treasurer's book and to Miss
Van Schoiack for her begin
ning record book.
Dan Nix won a district
proficiency award in poultry
production and will have a
chance at a state level award
in that division. Nix also
placed second in the coopera
tive quiz.
Slave Auction April 6
The annual FFA Slave
Auction will take place Thurs
day April 6 at 7 p.m. in the
HHS cafetorium with all 50
members of the local chapter
to be put on the block.
FFA slaves will put in an
eight-hour day of labor for the
highest bidders. The auction is
the organization's only fund
raising event this year. Pro
ceeds go to finance the many
activities of the Heppner
chapter, including the annual
banquet, National Convention,
State Convention and State
Fair.
Hardman dance to
benefit PMH
For a night of good old-
fashioned dancing and fun,
everyone, young and old, is
invited to the Hardman
Grange Hall this Saturday,
March 11, for a benefit dance
with proceeds going to Pio
neer Memorial Hospital.
The music, provided by
Dwane and the Plainsmen,
will start at 9 p.m. and last
until 2 a.m. This occasion will
be the last chance to hear the
group, COmpf"""1 of D'nr"
Grissom, Dale Chick and Jay
Papineau, play together.
Refreshments will be served
at midnight by the Hardman
Grange.
Admission to the dance will
be $5 per couple or $2.50 per
single. Proceeds will be used
for buying or replacing needed
equipment at the hospital.
Get your dancing shoes out
and meet your neighbors out
in Hardman this Saturday.

spring events

scheduled for Saturday,
March 18, beginning at 9 a.m.

ENROLLMENT PROCEDURES Students are requested to preregister for all
classes since many classes are limited in enrollment. To preregister, fill out the
coupon below. Send the coupon with a check for the cost of the class to: BMCC,
P.O. Box 100, Pendleton, 97801. Preregistrations must be received no later than
March 24, 1978 or students may register for classes at first class meeting if an
opening exists. A minimum of ten students is required for each class. Your
check will be returned if the class is full.
MINIMUM ENROLLMENT To Insure that a class operates on an economical
basis a minimum of 10 persons is required for a class to be offered. If a class is
canceled students may transfer or have fee refunded.
WHAT IS THE COST? Fees vary according to type & length of class. All tuition
& fees are payable at the time of registration. No student is enrolled in class
until all fees have been paid. Refunds are not made after the second class
period.

Several projects will be completed during the class.
