A lovely Homecoming court, selected by the varsity foot ball squad, will preside over the activities. Seniors Grace McElligott and Susan Thomp son vie for the queen crown and are joined by court princesses Margaret Kincaid, freshman; Tanna Hams, so phomore; and Darcy Rea, junior. All five court members are active in school sports and belong to Girls' Athletic Asso ciation. Grace McElligott, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry McElligott, is a member of the varsity volleyball, basketball and track teams. She is secretary of the National Honor Society and senior representative of student council. of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Thompson, is captain of the varsity volleyball team and plays varsity basketball and tennis. She is the concession chairman of senior class. Both Susan and Grace enjoy cook ing and sewing. Tanna Hams, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Pete Hams plays JV volleyball and is hoping to get on the track team. She was recently installed as Worthy Advisor for the lone Rainbow Girls. Darcy Rea, granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Halver son is a school cheerleader as well as being active in varsity volleyball, basketball and ten nis. Margaret Kincaid, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lindsay Kincaid, plays JV volleyball and is interested in all sports, including basketball and swimming. She fills the office of Faith in the lone Rainbow Girls. Mon day students dressed as story book characters, while the theme on Tuesday was "Boy Girl with Stuffed Animal." Sports was the dress-up idea for Wednesday, which was also Freshman Work Day. supervised by the seniors. Thursday and Friday are the big days for lone home coming activities. Today, the halls are filled with students dressed in "Color. Crazy Hats & Buttons" theme. A noise parade is planned at 1 p.m. while a pizza feed will take place from 5 to 7:30 p.m.. followed bv a bonfire. At 11 a.m. freshmen and sophomore girls will battle junior and senior girls in a powder puff football game. A pep assembly at 3 p.m. will raise school spirit several notches as the Cardinals look forward to kick-off time with Arlington at 7:30. Halftime will feature a special routine by Ione's cheerleaders, a 'surprise' by the senior class and the crowning of a Homecoming queen .
