Halftime
show set
to song
and dance
i
A bigger and better than
ever halftime show this Fri
day night will feature dancing
girls, fireworks, Heppner
High School's marching band
and the crowning of a queen.
The Goldtrotters dance
team and Heppner cheerlead
ers have choreographed dance
routines to the theme from
"Star Wars" and "Star Trek",
played by the band. The dance
team will perform with only
eight girls, having lost four of
their members to the Home-
coming Court.
4 The band will also play the
fanfare from "Super Star", as
well as the school song and the
fight song.
Jim Ackley, band director,
arranged three of the selec
tions. As in past years, he
directs the halftime show,
assisted by student director
Bill Kenny.
Fireworks and
a burning "H"
Ackley said that the $130 fire
work display is "top secret"
this year. "Well tell everyone
what direction to look just
before it takes off," he said.
A bucket for donations to
help defray costs will be set
up. Last year contributions
just covered show expenses.
As a finale, a Homecoming
queen will be crowned in the
middle of the traditional "H"
on the field.
