COUNTY COURT ORDERS, August, 1977
The Court ORDERED:
1. That the Clerk transfer $1,958.00 from the Contingency
Fund to the Commissioners Salary Appropriation.
2. That the Petition for the creation of County Line Water
Improvement District be APPROVED. The first Board of
Directors is composed of Donald Key, James Key, Tyler
Hansell, Richard Caplinger, Jeddy Aylett, Geraldine
Carroll and Bernice Key. Boundaries were also specified
in the Order.
In further business, the court accepted three resolutions
and one petition regarding the formation of the North
Morrow County Vector Control District.
The Court also accepted a petition regarding the
vacation of Birch Lake Acres and other streets.

On October 17, the Oregon
State Department of Revenue
will be dropping more than
one-half million checks
amounting to $75 million in the
mail. These are the second
checks this year going to
homeowners and renters to
help them pay their property
taxes.
The 1977 legislature chang
ed the property tax refund
program to provide for refund
checks to be mailed in October
instead of next spring. The
thinking behind the change is
that persons may be able to
better use their Property Tax
Refund to help pay their
property taxes.

Each of Morrow County's
high schools will host a visit by
representatives from the Ore
gon State System of Higher
Education this month.
The representatives will
visit lone High School at 9:45
a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 19
and Heppner High School at
1:35 p.m. on the same day.
Riverside will host the team
on Monday, October 31 at
12:45 p.m.
Parents are invited to at
tend the visitation and are
urged to discuss post-high
school plans with their sons
and daughters before and
after the conference.
