Heideman, Mrs. V.J. Tucker, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Olson and granddaughter, Tracy of Spokane, Wa.; Mrs. Roy Smith of Colbert, Wa.; Mr. and Mrs. Rod Sprague, Wendy, Carolyn and John, of Chattaroy, Wa. ; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Uhacz of Vancouver, Wa.; Mr. and Mrs. Beryl Musick of Nampa ID. Gerald Wilson, and Judy Nester of Kenne wick Wa. Guests at the Lloyd Morgan home were; Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Davidson and family of Portland, and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Paavola and family from Scappose. At the John Eu banks home were Mrs. Mattie Morgan of Canyonville, Mr. and Mrs. John Sanders, Sher ry and Stan and friends from Portland. Mrs. Delores Turner of Hazel Dell, Wa. stayed at the home of her mother, Mrs. Gladys Drake, and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lundell of Mil waukee visited with Mr. and Mrs. Clell Rea. At the Ted Palmateer home were Mr. and Mrs. Bill Wolford and family of Delta, Utah. Others coming for the day were Mr. and Mrs. Terry Aiken of Grass Valley. Following the wedding and reception an evening luncheon was held at the American Legion Hall for friends and relatives. Following the lunch eon Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Morgan were presented with a large decorated cake and a money tree, the occasion being their 36th wedding anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Swanson and Mrs. Irene Swanson of Heppner, spent the weekend in Portland. They visited with Mr. and Mrs. Norman Swan son on Saturday, who were leaving Sunday for a tour of the Orient. Mrs. Irene Swan son was going on to Salem to visit relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Crabtree and Kevin McCabe spent the weekend in Moscow, Idaho, visiting Mr. and Mrs. Mike Hall. On Saturday evening they attended a rodeo in Lewiston, Idaho, and on Sun day helped . Jim McCabe celebrate his birthday before returning home. Bunchgrass Rebekah Lodge The PNG Club of Holly Rebekah Lodge motored to Hermiston on Wednesday where they enjoyed lunch and some shopping. Those present for the fun time were, Irene Padberg, Ruth Robinson, Don na Papineau, Hilda Yocom, Florence McMillan, Catie Padberg and Delpha Jones. The next meeting will be the first Wednesday in December. Frank Robinson is a patient in Kadlac Hospital in Rich land, Wash. He was taken there from Pioneer Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient. His mother, Ruth Robinson, is caring for a daughter, Sharon, while Mrs. Robinson is in Richland with her husband. Clayton Davis, Pendleton, was a visitor in Lexington at the VanWinkle home on Mon day. Three Links Club met at the Barbara Cutsforth home on Thursday for their regular meeting with the chairman Ruth Robinson presiding. Plans were further discussed for the President's visit Sept. 29. Plans were also made for a Food Sale the Wednesday preceeding Thanksgiving and the Bazaar in Heppner when Santa makes his official visit. Present were Florence McMil lan, Eula Bloodsworth, Catie Padberg, Leita Messenger, Virginia Peck, Carolyn Ho ward, Donna Schmittle, Del pha Jones, Ruth Robinson, Ann Chick and the hostess Barbara Cutsforth. Lovely refreshments were served. Lexington Grange will meet on Monday, Sept. 19, for the first regular meeting of the fall. I " J - ' "If Lrni-fT ' will hold a yard sale, Sept. 24, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the home of Mrs. Edith Matthews. They will have baked goods, old picture frames, Christmas items, kitchen ware and dishes, books, records and antiques, and other miscella neous items, old and new. There will be no early sales. Willows Grange will meet Sept. 17, at the Grange Hall at O Lexington news. Delpha Jones 989-8189 in addition to the regular meeting, will be a Bingo Game and a potluck dinner. The dinner will start at 6. Let us all come out and get in the Grange swing for the fall and winter. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth 0 Kinzua Barbara Pike North Morrow County 4-H Leaders met at the home of Vern and Francine Evans on Thursday. Matters under dis cussion included combining 4-H Achievement night with Sign-up night on Sept. 22 at the A.C. Houghton School. Plans were made to serve a potluck dinner with 4-H par ents asked to bring a salad or dessert. Meat and potatoes will be provided by the leaders. This will mark the begin ning of the new 4-H year as well as finalizing the past year and recognizing achievements of the 4-H members. All club members and parents are urged to attend. Any child from the 4th grade through High School, who is interested in joining a 4-H club is welcome. Parents who are concerned about the training of their children are invited to come and learn about the 4-H program and to serve as 4-H leaders. Palmer returned this week from a trip to Anchorage, Alaska where they visited a daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Balfe. He also placed second in senior swine showmanship. Erin Evans received a blue ribbon in style review. She modeled a Rus sian peasant outfit with a border print skirt and full gathered top and a vest. Jyl Hobbs and Becky Hobbs placed first in Food Preserva tion. Mr. and Mrs. E.A. Stephens of Irrigon, their son and daughter-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Clark Stephens of Umatilla and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Eggiman of Tacoma were guests of Mrs. May McKinney in Pendleton on Saturday, and helped her celebrate her 85th birthday. Mrs. McKinney is Mr. Stephens' sister and Mrs. Eggiman is his niece. The group also attended the Dress up Parade. Cindy Bartlett of Lynnwood, Wash., spent a week visiting her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Wilson while her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bartlett were archery hunting near La Grande. J -- Id, Steve and Roberta Conlee went to The Dalles Friday on business. Earl and Carol Norris went to Prineville Sunday to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Apperson who live in McCloud, Califor nia. Don and Barbara Pike went to Hells Canyon to spend the Labor Day weekend. They were joined by their daughter and son-in-law, Chuck and Patti Constantin and several friends of the Portland couple. The Pikes returned home Tuesday evening to pick up their daughter LuAnn for a trip to Portland Wednesday. In Portland, they visited with the Constantins and Sue Pike, who was spending several days visiting from her home in Ashland. The group spent most of the day at the University of Oregon Health Science Center where LuAnn had an eye examination. The Pikes returned to Kinzua late that evening. Thursday, Don and Barbara left to finish their vacation in Nyssa with their son and family, Lance and Hollie Van Meter and Clay. Scott Conlee celebrated his fifth birthday Saturday with a family bar-b-que held at his parents home. Gwendolyn Sharp and Jo seph Bennett were united in marriage in a ceremony held September 10th at 2 PM, at the Kinzua Community Church. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gwen Sharp, Kinzua. The groom is the son of Mrs. Beverly Pierce of Humptulip, Washington. The bride wore an old fashioned dress of blue and white with a front panel of lace. She carried a bouquet of blue and white carnations and white daisies. Angie Jackson, friend of the bride was the maid of honor. Aaron Duncan Enney was the best man. Sherry Pierce, sister of the groom, was flower girl. A reception was held at Jeffmore Hall following the ceremony. Among the out of town guests were the grooms grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Cavanaugh, Humptu lip, Wash., and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Bennett, Heppner.
