'01 Sol was burnin' down
real hot like... the breeze,
when it did come over the hill,
brought skimpy twisters of
dust and grit and there in the
middle of it all was a gather-in'
of riders all decked out in their
Saturday-night best and put
on a show they did.
The event was the Morrow
County 4-H Horse Show held
last Sunday at the Fair
grounds. Starting at 10 a.m.
and for the next nine hours the
4-H'ers put on an exhibition of
their skills for Judge Frank
Herman of Hood River and a
crowd of parents and interes
ted onlookers.
Lori Witt, a competitor in
the intermediate division,
stole the show awards-wise
taking All-Around Champion
honors in three of the six
events.
Looking good
Morrow County Fair & Rodeo Princess Krynn Robinson
takes advantage of a break in the action to "pretty up" for
Judge Frank Herman's benefit maybe.
Miss Witt was named All
Around Champion in Show
manship, Western Equitation
and English Equitation, which
means she also picked up
ribbons and points for being
the champion of her division in
each of those events.
Krynn Robinson, a senior
division competitor, was All
Around Champion in Hunt
Seat Over Fences and Trail
Horse competition and picked
up All-Around Reserve Cham
pion honors in English Equi
tation and Western Equita
tion. Ann Van Schoiack took the
championship in Colt Ground
Training with Pat Schwartz
taking the Reserve Cham
pionship honors.
Dawn Peterson was selected
All-Around Reserve Cham
pion in showmanship and Deb
Palmer picked up the All
Around Reserve Champion
title for Hunt Seat Over
Fences.
