Sanctifying Spirit
In Acts 2, we read of the great Pentecost
event. It is still a mighty act of God in the life
of the Church, for God the Spirit is active in
Jta world. He has not abandoned us. He is the
source of power promised by the risen Christ
'just before His Ascension. Throughout the
course of human history, God has acted
mightily. His mighty acts are recorded in
Scripture. He acts even now, upholding,
sustaining and still creating in this universe,
of which man is just a small part. However,
man is the highest order and the beloved of
the Father. It was for us and for our salvation
that He gave His Son, our Lord, the greatest
Gift.
Mankind wanders through life and creation
as a vagabond for the most part. He is on a
journey, and for many that journey has no
ultimate destination. That lack of purpose or
destination results in frustration, fear, and
ultimately despair, which is the great
anxiety.
The holy Church separated often travels
that same road only because the Church
separated is made up of men and women who
have no ultimate destination, who have not
found the Burning Fire in their hearts, minds
and bodies.

4-H needs volunteers
Population explosions occur
in many areas apart from the
major spectrum of countries.
They occur within organiza
tions as well. Still, in keeping
with the national trend, often
the influx of people far ex
ceeds the full containment of
available leaders.
It is this very tight situation
that has caught the Morrow
County 4-H program, as well
as many others, with a short
supply. Reports Morrow 4-H
staff, "There's a tremendous
surge of interest in 4-H this

in a wide variety of projects,
and we are really out looking
for volunteer leaders!"
Since 4-H now extends into
multi-areas of interest, the
need for leaders has few
boundaries. Creative arts and
crafts, pet projects, small
animal, machines and wood
work have been indicated as
particular areas of interest to
the young people wanting to be
4-H members. This is not to
say the other standard 4-H
project areas are not in need

burning
in the second chapter of Acts the apostles and
disciples, who were also stumbling around in
fear, were gathered together in one place.
Undoubtedly, the Spirit is not controlled by
our whims and fancies, but when the holy
people of God are gathered together, the
Sanctifying Spirit enters into the midst of
them as a mighty rushing wind and as it were
tongues of fire.
Fear was then cast out ; it can be today. The
Apostles ran into the streets proclaiming the
mighty acts of God. They were accused by the
scoffers, which we have with us always, as
being drunk. But they spoke in the language
of the then known world and many believed
and were baptized.
Might the holy People of God gather
together in one place regularly to hear the
Word of God, offer the Prayer of the Church
and break The Bread? Fear is cast out, the
journey begins anew with a destination
finally, however dimly, realized. May the joy
of Christ be yours and may your lives be filled
with power.
Oh, the Sanctifying Spirit is a burning fire.
He's a flame of love, he's a sanctifier.
Yes, the Sanctifying Spirit is a burning fire,
Won't you come great Spirit, Come.
Shalom,
