Parents of the bride are Mr.
and Mrt. Pete Hams, of lone,
OR. Parents of the groom are
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Langue
of North Plains, OR.
Escorted by her father, the
bride wore a chantilly lace
tiered gown over satin, ca
thedral length train, wedding
point sleeves. Her fingertip
veil was held in place by a lace
and seed pearl head piece. She
carried a bridal bouquet of
pink and white rose buds,
stephanotls, and white baby's
breath.
Kathy Bradbury, friend of
the bride, was the matron-ot-honor.
Gloria Langue, sister of
the groom, was bridesmaid.
Both girls wore gowns of pink

Island was best man and
Randy Bradbury of Oregon
City was usher. Candle light
ers were bride's sisters,
Tanna and Janet Hams of
; lone, OR. Emily Langue was
in charge of the guest book,
with Teena Bower at the gift

Bride's mother wore blue
' chiffon over taffeta gown with
butterfly sleeves. Groom's
mother wore light blue gown
of chiffon and French lace.

on September 18.
The formal candlelight din
ner was hosted by their
daughters Oween Carlson,
North Plains; Lnretta Adrian,
Portland; Debbie Long. Gas
ton, and their nephews. Lowell
Winters, Pendleton, and Chick
Winters. Pulalltip, WA
Attending the dinner were 50
guests and lifetime friends.

The four tiered petal shaped
wedding cake was decorated
in pink and white roses and
white wedding bells. The cake
top was double wedding rings
encircled with a heart. The
wedding cake was made by
Marjorie Hams, the mother of
the bride.
Doloris VanDomlen, aunt of
the groom, cut the cake,
assisted by Sharon Gorgcns,
sister of the bride, Judy
Langue, sister of the groom,
and Tanna Hams, sister of the
bride served punch. Coffee

Arizona kinfolk visit
Albert Wright home
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Wey
bright (Louise Wright) from
Sun City, Arizona, have been
recent county visitors. Mrs.
Weybright is related to the
Morrow County pioneer, Al
bert Wright. The Weybrights
were guests in the homes of
Albert and Beverly Wright
and of Beth and Barton Clark.
Mrs. Weybright located her
relatives here through cor
respondence which reached
Mrs. Rachel Harnett, the
museum curator. Mrs. Har
nett told Beverly Wright about
the inquiry and Beverly wrote
to Louise Wevbright and
Anderson promoted
to Philippines
David Anderson, a 1965
graduate of Heppner High
School, has been promoted by
Dole, Inc.
Anderson, an agronomist
for Dole Thailand since Octo
ber of 1974, has been promoted
and transferred to Dole Phil
ippines as superintendent of
Agricultural Research, Ser-

College campus August 29

Mrs. Weybright's great
grandfather was a brother of
Albert Wright's. Her father
was Elbridge, and he, Albert
and Anson were three of the 11
children of Jephtha and Betsy
(Emerson) Wright of New
York State. Albert and his
younger brother Anson came
to Oregon by 1853, first set
tling at Oregon City. Elbridge
remained in the east.
Beverly Wright says that
the pioneer Albert Wright's
Bible and other articles that
came across the plains are in
vices and Inspection.
Anderson will be respons
ible for implementing pine
apple and banana research
projects as directed by the
Far East Research Staff of
Castle and Cooke Foods.
The job will also include
recording climatic conditions,
conducting pest surveys and
supervising a 305 acre pine
apple variety nursery.
Anderson is a 1965 graduate
of HIIS and graduated from
Oregon State University in
1971 with a bachelor's degree
in farm crops.
Anderson and his wife Bar
bara arrived September 17 in
Oregon and will be flying to
the Philippines on October 12.
Their children, Katrina and
Annissa, have been visiting
relatives in Oregon and stay
ing with their great-grandmother,
Eula Bloodsworth, in
Lexington for the past few
months.

letters written between 1852
and 1871 by Jeptha Wright to
his son Albert after Albert
started his westward Journey.
Before Mr. and Mrs. Wey
bright started their journey
back to their Arizona home,
the various Wright kin still
living in Morrow County hon
ored them with a potluck
dinner at the Rhea Creek
Grange Hall.
All Saints'
celebration
Plans are being made for a
celebration of All Saints' Day,
November 1, on a grand scale,
because it is the name day of
the parish church. All mem
bers of the parish are re
quested to reserve that eve
ning for the celebration, and
members of the community
will be most welcome to join
the Festival of All Saints in
worship, praise, and celebration.
