Teachers return August 3
Morrow County teaching
staffs will be returning to the
district for fall lnservice and
classroom preparation on Au
gust 31.
The first day for students
will be September 7 the day
after Labor Day.
A number of new teachers
have been added to the staff of
the district this year.
Jeri McElligott will teach
5th grade at lone, George
Russell will teach music at
lone, Charles Starr, former
math teacher at Heppner has
been hired as Principal at
lone.
Linda Murray has been
hired as Language Arts teach
er at Heppner Jr. High and
Rebecca Randall will teach
P.E. at Heppner. Chris Bor
gen will teach Language Arts
and coach basketball at Hepp
ner High School. Other new
teachers at Heppner are John
Dawson, vocal music at both
- school, Susan Decker, Special
Education at Heppner Ele
mentary, Marilyn Post, grade
one from the University of
Oregon, and Mary Jo Bene
dict, an Eastern Oregon State
College grad, tabled to teach
kindergarten.

School offices will also be
open to receive fees and to
provide information to stu
dents and parents.
Football practice for Mor
row County High Schools will
begin August 23, unless the
coach has set it at a later date
at the individual school.
Student fees are the same as
last year except there will be
no shop fee for secondary
students and no student body
fee for elementary students.
A physical examination Is
required of all beginning
students who will be entering
school for the first time In
