Mrs. Darrell James and
family of Turner, will share
their talents with the congre
gation during the worship
service at the United Church
of Christ.
The worship service has
been changed to 10 a.m.
during the summer.
Fred Martin returned home
4 a week ago from the hospital
I An Walla Walla. He underwent
surgery and is recovering
satisfactorily.
Diane Graham hosted the
U.C.C. Womens Fellowship
Meeting in her home with Jan
Oswalt leading the study
program. This was the last
meeting until Fall.
The Bunchgrass Rebekah
Lodge No. 91 met at the home
of Vera Kietmann May 20.
Regular business meeting was
conducted with plans for a
birthday party discussed.
Members will be notified of
the next meeting place.
Word hus been received by
Delsie Chapel on the death of
Myrtle Muhrt, Prescott, AZ.
Mrs. Mahrt died of a stroke
April 21. She was well known
in the area having taught in
Hardman and other schools in
Morrow County.
Mr. and Mrs. John B. Roper,
Milwaukie, visited over the
holiday with their daughter
and family, the Robert H.
Bakers.
Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Peter
son traveled to Eugene for the
Memorial weekend to visit her
brother, Mr. and Mrs. Tom
Yates.
Mr. and Mrs. David Baker
traveled to Woodburn this
week to visit his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Henry Baker.
The lone Volunteer Fire
Dept. meeting will be held
Monday, June 7, 8 p.m. at the
City Hall. It is an important
action meeting. The evening
will be a familiarization and
practice session with equip
ment. Mr. and Mrs. Ken Nelson
and girls went- Jo the jeep
races near Yakima, WA over
the weekend.
Nancy Lcavitt and children
have moved into a mobile
home on second street.

A six-man survey team will
conduct an actual head count
of the residents within the City
of Heppner, beginning next
Monday or Tuesday. This was
the word received from Jim
Stephenson, physical planner
of the ECOAC.
The team will go door to
door, presenting the required
identification to the people
and will ask questions regard
ing the construction of the
homes, the type of homes they
would like to see constructed
in Heppner, questions regard
ing employment and the
various needs of persons over
the age of 55. Senior citizens
will also be asked questions
concerning their various acti
vities in the community.
