BANANA PUDDING CAKE
2 small bananas
1 pkg. yellow cake mix
1 pkg. i smalli instant vanilla or banana pudding
4 eggs
1 cup water
' 4 cup oil
a cup chopped nuts
Directions:
Mix in lg. bowl, bananas, eggs, water, cake nix, pudding
and nuts. Blend well together and put in well greased floured
10-in. tube or bundt pan for 60 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool for
15 minutes. Remove from pan and finish cooling on rack.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Serve with whipped topping.

this writing. I can't even think
one good April Fools joke to
pull. However, this edition will
take place on any joke.

Beginning April 1. the Lex
ington postal station has been
relocated. It has been return
ed to Del s Market which was
its home for many years.
The station equipment was
moved from the Ed Struthers
home to Del s Market last
weekend. Marie Struthers will
continue acting as postal clerk
until March 31. Del Piper sub
mitted a bid that was accepted
for the station and has taken
the responsibility that he dis
charged for many years.

The following excerpt is
from a Roseburg paper. The
deceased, his father, Tom
Stewart, and other family
members are well known in
this section of Oregon.
James Warren Stewart, age
62. of Roseburg, died Feb. 16
in a local Roseburg hospital.
He was born Feb. 10, 1914 in
Kirkwood, IL and was mar
ried June 8, 1961 in Roseburg
to Louise Short. He had
resided in this community for
28 years. He was a member of
the V.F.W.

The distribution of $27,500 to
18 Oregon counties to cover
eligible costs of maintenance
and operation of local mu
seums during fiscal year 1975
was announced by Fred B.
Klaboe. State Highway Divi
sion administrator, recently.
The apportionment is auth
orized by statue and goes to
the various counties as reim
bursement for amounts spent
in the support of local mu
seums. The amounts ranged
from $229.53 to $2,352.76.
The Morrow County Mu
seum. Heppner received
$1,029.43.

funding for the Teacher In
centive Program. TIP is

awarded to implement inno

adopting a creative new
program.
Kim Culsforth attending
college in LaGrande was
visiting relatives over the
weekend. They were Madge
and Alia Culsforth.
Laurel Van Marter is the
only woman I know who gave
up cigarettes, went on a diet
and no cocktails, all the same
day. It has been some months
now and LaVerne still has a
smile on his face, so her
disposition hasn't changed.
There must be some award for
Laurel, but at this writing, all
I can think of is that's will
power, a lot of us don 'I have.
John Kilkenny was home for
spring vacation from Univer
sity of Oregon. Eugene, visit
ing his parents and friends.
In the national news last
week was a death announce
ment of Robert E. Braley.
Cincinnati. He was the Ameri
can who fired the first shot in
World War I. Why Is it

Utl week. This was a Heppner
Garden Gub project carried
out by the Cuttings and Bar
bara James. The men cut out
Ins desirable growth and
Barbara worked al cleaning
up their cuttings. Several
Garden Club volunteer were
ill and the worthwhile project
fell to only two members and
visitor.

Gene Russell has recovered
sufficiently to operate his own
vehicle following hia recent
accident while employed with
Kinzua's train crew and was

day. One arm and hand
remain in a partial cast. Gene
will go to The Dalles this week
for a medical checkup.

ghter Becky were here from
Pilot Rock over the weekend
visiting his brother, the Frank
Cecils, the Mary Williams
home and other friends and
relatives.
Pauline Cecil is now em
ployed at Hiersche's Nursing
Home, Pendleton and was
unable to accompany her
family here.
The Bobby Fishers and
daughter Kristi have returned
from a week in Portland
where Kristi had knee surgery
following an injury sustained
in playing basketball. The
Fishers were guests at the
Charles Whyte home while
away.

Richard have been here from
Prineville visiting Richard'a
grandparents, the Lloy Mun
jars and his great grand
parents, Herman and Ella.

on Saturday, the McCartys
were in Condon to return Vera
McCarty here. Vera is now
employed at the Dalzell ranch
at Condon.
Merna Richards prepared a
dinner at her home Sunday
honoring her husband, Billy
and Mrs. Dick Griffith whose
birthdays were March 14 and
15. Billy's and Mary's ages are
the same, incidently.

and Billy and Meroa.
The Ray Gates received
word Friday that Ray's sister,
Wilma Moore. Lynwood, WA
is hospitalized following a
heart attack.

danair have returned from
four days in Portland where
they attended a district coun
cil meeting Including repre
sentatives from Assembly
churches throughout Oregon.
Mrs. Gordanair attended as a
delegate from Spray's Assem
bly Church.

the Griffith Ranch. Johnnie
Griffith spent the weekend in
Prineville al the Brian Adams
home. Gib taking over some
ranch duties during his broth
er's absence.

went to Fossil Saturday where
Ihey joined other fair board
members for a dinner and
meeting in the evening.

attended birthday party for
Bessie Myers who was 90
years old on that day.

weekends.
