The total budget approved last week by the budget committee is $3,079,381, an increase of $373,500. Less than half the total budget figure is to be raised from local taxes, President Ron Daniels said. Total amount to be raised from Umatilla-Morrow county residents is $1,545,259, an increase of $147,298, or 10.5 per cent An increase in the true cash value of the college district Is expected to reduce the college's general fund tax levy from the current $1.63 per. $1000 true cash value to a projected $1.60 per $1000 true cash value, Daniels said. He also expects the college's building levy to drop from the current 30 cents to 26 or 27 cents per $1000 true cash value. The budget is to be voted on April 20th. Also on the ballot will be three positions on the BMCC Board of Education. Deadline for filing is 5 p.m. March 16. All three incumbents have stated they will run to retain their posts. They are Bob Rietmann, lone; Ken Dauble, Weston, and Joe Green, Pendleton. Also a candidate for Green's post is Julianne Sawyer, Pendleton.
